You could get a better laptop for that price, specially when it comes to specs for gaming. But the iPad is not for pure gaming.

I am actually considering one of these as of recent because I am planning on getting the new iPhone that will be released during the summer (supposedly). All apps I get for my iPhone I can use on the iPad.

My guess that this is a great extension for your iPhone, but also a great way to surf the web, read mail, view movies... and doing this while sitting on the couch.

Browsing Web? Fail - no flash = limited access.

Email looks good - not sure about composing.

Photos - yup - kinda pricey for a frame.

Video - sure as long as u buy it from their store.

Music - yop same story - u buy from them.

Games? No this is a fail. Too slow, no storage.

Ebooks. But of course - another store - what this product is in fact all about.

All of the "benefits" we all have for free right now - I see no benefit tipping Apple for any media I wish to watch listen or read.

Lacking flash ads does not bother me, it has a youtube app.

Composing a email may be fiddly but the iPhone works so i dinny see any issues.

Video and Music can be bought from any store as long as it is in h.264 format for video and it supports many audio formats.

Games will work very well, mind its a custom chip built for the device you cant compare it to a Intel and say its slow.

And you can download kindle books with the kindle app without giving Apple any money.

@StraightShooter01 Yes, you have to buy the media you consume fair and square... Would you rather it all be free? Thousands of movie makers, musicians and authors making art that they'll never be compensated for? You know the books cost money on a Kindle too, right? I can see your points on other things, namely flash (but html5 is already catching on so I don't care) but your problems with purchasing media make absolutely no sense.

@StraightShooter01 You can put any video you want on it, same with music, games designed for it run fine, ebooks? use PDF's if you want so you dont have to buy them from them... Most of your "conclusions" are mute, however I do agree not worth the cost and no flash is crap, And no I don't own or want one but i know people who have them.

Doesn't have a usb port. Doesn't have win7 or the ability to run OS X which is Apples OS.. If it would of had OS X then maybe it would of been worth the cash.

iPhone OS is Mac OS X just cut down and tuned to work on a portable device without the unnecessary fluff.

Apple build the OS to match the product, if it was running the desktop OSX it would need much faster hardware and would not preform as well nor would the interface fit.

Its better building a interface that fits the product than to please a few people that think unless the OS takes up half the storage its naff.
