@AleksM1991 There wasnt one demonstration held in a Serbian city during the siege to try and make it stop. If anything it was encouraged.
In a recent poll held by a leading Serbian newspaper 51% of Serbians still agree with the siege and feel it was a correct thing to do.
The Serbian government recently apologised for the atrocities held on their behalf, coincidently while trying to gain EU status..it was a fake apology. You did nothing and most of you are glad that you did..its not right
@nerp23 theres a good reason for not being demonstrations, people cant get together in big groups and demonstrate while a war is going on only a few 100 kilometers away... and the seige was the correct thing to do, after all it was a war...
if serbia didnt attack then they would get attacked... wars are pretty shit thats the reality... but the mass executions i wish they didnt happen... at the time those werent told to the serbian public, very few peopl knew about it back then.
@nerp23 it`s in serb nature to act in sort of barbaric primitivism. I`m from croatia and they did horrible attrocities here also.strange though, serbs were seeking war in almost every corner of yugoslavia (slovenia, croatia, bosnia, kosovo), they were the biggest nation of yugoslavia and their excuse was that they were scarred???!!! not to mention that they took all the weapons from yugoslav national army-which was payed not only by serbs but also by other republics
It must be hard for anyone, military and civillian to go through the horrors that took place in bosnia as well as any other war. It must have been extremely difficult if not frustrating for the UN Troops on the ground to watch everything going on without doing anything except help the dead or wounded civillians. Under the rules of engagement soldiers cannot fire unless being fired upon. They're not cowards, only soldiers following orders, not taking any sides, only able to help wounded civvies
Thanks to all UN troops that helped transport our Mujahideen, but dutch cowards that let trhough the serbs in Srebrenica I hope it haunts you for the rest of your lifes...
That's a horrible NON MUSLIM thing to wish upon someone! The dutch were heavily unarmed. There was no way they could defend 8,000 people. Yes, it was terrible what happened, but we can't blame the Dutch. There were many Dutch soldiers who felt sorry and helpless just like the people, and many dutch who died fighting for us!
Yes I am Bosnian, and I was THERE. Half of my family is still missing. I can understand people's ill feelings, but at the same time, it was a tough situation for everyone involved. I still talk about genocide to classes in college. Education is a great way of attempting to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
SABLA89: The UN didn't help us exactly. They are supposed to KEEP the peace, but there was NO peace at that time to be kept, so why were they there? Sure they fed us, but they also gave us an Arms Embargo, so Bosnians could have no weapons of their own, and the UN can't shoot at people unless opposing forces are shooting at them that's why so many people died.
Exactly. There's a quote similar to that in the film No Man's Land about the conflict. Marchand, a French UN peacekeeper says, "There is no neutrality in war. Choosing to do nothing, is, in fact, choosing a side.
I was an original recipiant of this video. It features 1 Cheshire and 1 PWO experiences of the Vitez AoR. Bob Barker, i want my original video back!
