  • gotta love the lead-guitar in the chorus

  • would have loved to hear her do moonchild

  • Was this Judy's song version on "A Young person guide to K.C:?"

  • @maranton0 yes it is

  • Hermoso

  • This is far better version, IMO. I love Greg Lake in ELP, but on this song he constantly falls asleep.

  • Which is the better version? Both are good...both are histrory. U can also find Judy doing an early version of Pink Floyd's SEE EMILY PLAY.

ONe of Judy's latest solo efforts, from her album TALKING TO STRANMGERS, Jazzbirds, has a King Crimsonish flavouring...she shines best at being herself!

  • Haha, so hippyish.

  • this is better than the KC album cut in my opinion. Dyble gives it more soul.

  • Interesting oddity - much prefer King Crimson's version.

  • I like this version... perhaps it's even better than the KC version and... no, I'm no crazy.

  • Also on cd

Brondesbury Tapes by Giles Giles & Fripp

  • Nice version.

    harry

  • This is a great version of the amazinbg classic! Never thought of doing it this way!

  • This is so great...with the REAL wind instruments and everything!

  • I do like the final KC version better, but really they are so different it's hard to even compare them. The Cheery melody mated with the minor chords in this early GGF version is very nice though. :)

  • oooh, nice....

  • Much prefer KC's version but... this has its own appeal too.

  • I can't dig her voice, sorry

  • Best version imho...so totally disagree with the previous comment...each to their own

  • I like the video - beautiful women in summer dresses, what more could a man want?

  • Cosmic.

  • It kills the music. In the original version, you could feel as if you were surrounded by the wind.

  • @diogene4994 this is older then the 69' studio version.

  • @frigital I'm late, but you are right, that's my mistake.

  • Young Person's Guide to King Crimson

  • when i heard this version when i was a child i had 12 years i thought this was a cover but is a beauty version ! one more time King crimson!

  • where is this song from? i cant seem to find the album

  • @wanabeknut

I know that this version of "I talk to the wind" appears on the album "A Young Person's Guide to King Crimson".

  • it's a refreshing version,

    faster tempo, flutier.

everyone singing on the last verse

    thanks for posting it

  • Judy: You did a beautiful job on this song. Indeed, I thought your particular, female, voice was a very nice accompaniment to the mellotron, et alia. Sorry to see you leave KC; it would have been very interesting to see you work with the other 5 on the whole, first, album.

  • This seems like the territory the ending of the King Crimson version would have treaded had it not faded out into Epitaph.

That's definately how the live version should have worked.

  • amaaazing

  • "Encantatory" is the right word for this Progressive composition.

  • This is by far my favourite rendition of this song...absolutely beautiful....heard this long after the first album version ~ was included on the Young Person's Guide.....

  • One of my all time favorites since I first heard it in 1974.

It's the best to me jeffthrow but perhaps it's because I heard this version a long time before I heard the other.

  • Oh I love this song, it's so beautiful....like a dream

  • sweet

  • chill.

  • fantastic rendition, that! thanks for posting!!! :)

  • suchhhhhhhhh an amazing songgggg

  • I first found Judy Dyble on TheYoungPersonsGuidetoKingCrimson, She has a beautiful voice. i think she's done a fantastic job with this song.

  • Very cool to hear this version, but these people who are trying to say this is better than the version on KC's first album are......crazy!! No way is this better!

  • @jeffthrow6892 I agree, but still very atmospheric, wonderful version!

  • @NCW250 -- Yes, very true.................

  • @jeffthrow6892 i am a huge king crimson fan, it is definelty much much better.

  • @jeffthrow6892 i am a huge king crimson fan, it is definelty much much better.because of the female voice and some parts are diferent, i enjoy this version much more, but ther eis yet another version, wich i love too, i cant remeber what is that last version i mentined.

  • @jeffthrow6892 yep, this version is better.

  • this is the definative version.... imo....

  • Какая грустная песня...

  • I just got Judy Dyble's new CD in the mail and it's the best album I've heard in such a long time!!! She is sheer bittersweet heavenly brilliance!!!! It's called Talking With Strangers.. It's worth buying.. I would have paid double for this now that I've heard it!!

  • Out of the three different versions I know, this is maybe the one I like the most. The way they play the acoustic guitar + Judy's voice makes this interpretation sound like psychedelic rock. The two other versions have their strengths too. For example the flute in the KC version.

  • beautiful :) fower power :)

  • Judy rocks.

  • Beautiful, Judy was the Michael Giles' girlfriend, but Fripp send her out from the band, jajaja

  • slightly wrong, she was Ian McDonald's girlfriend, and nobody made her leave, it was her own decision to do so.

  • @JudyD9 Yes, you are right, she was Ian's grielfriend, but i think that R. Fripp did not have her in his plans

Cierto, era novia de Ian, pero no creo que ella estuviera en los planes de R. Fripp

  • @marcobandini1 I know I am right... I am her, but It was my own decision to leave, no one else's :-)

  • @JudyD9 Beautiful singing and song. Just heard your singing on Norwegian TV and your voice is mellifluous like "I Talk to the Wind."

  • Thank you very much.

  • Lovely version of this song.

  • thanks ...4/159
