The general decline of unions was due, in large part, to the lack of support from the general public who just didn't want to be "INCONVENIENCED" by strikes. College graduates thought they would be promoted based on the quality of their work (bad assumption). My baby boomer generation is MUCH wiser now. There are WORSE things than inconvenience. VOTE for those who will PROTECT workers. Minnesota has gone from the "Education State" to 49th in classroom size! Thanks GOP [Gouge Our Poor]!!!
Anyone who says there's a Liberal Media is completely blind. A citizen's revolt against corporatism is in progress across the entire country and the TV refuses to report it, instead waxing about corporate spokespeople, giving unfounded speculation about radiation, or droning on about Charlie Sheen.
I want to hear about the uprising in Libya, Bahrain, and Egypt, too, but not at the expense of covering the one HERE.
In France, the government & corporations fear the workers when they revolt or call a general strike (when public services get shut down until workers reach a deal). In the US, the workers tend to fear retalliation from corporate America or their government & just won't complain. It's time for us to learn from French workers! Workers unite! Tom, keep singing the protest songs! Democracy in every workplace!!
