About 5 years ago we used to have a wal-mart like this in indianola mississippi but they built a new super center like 3000 feet away and the old one was abbandoned for 2 years then they painted it tan and put a dollor tree a fasion store a check place and a exersise place in it.
Ours was built in 1985 (regular Walmart)... then we had a new super store built in 1994 on the north side of town... old one stayed open until 2003, which is when super store #2 was built on south side of town. Everyone misses the old walmart... building still there, but its not walmart now.
kmart could never make a come back iv been working at walmart for about 2 years now and for sure its walmarts fault kmart went down hahaha they took they ass down hard to if it wasent for sears there would be no kmart
Interesting information: there are 179 Wal-Mart stores in California! This count includes 76 supercenters and 103 discount stores. I think Kmart is better, besides it is the biggest retailer that originated in Michigan! I hope Kmart can make a comeback, you can only be on decline for so long.
Their in the process of making our regular old Wal-Mart a Supercenter right now. Just a few years ago they made our regular target (the first ever Target, here in Roseville MN) a Super Target. Our K-Mart, which is quite some ways away, is still the old K-Mart , it still has its original 1970s sign on it.
I have at least one "Normal" Wal-mart from 1990 by my house but it is slightly larger than this (100,000 sq. ft.) And is currently under renovation to become a "Half' supercenter ( still has one entrance but it has a deli bakery etc. and full groceries.)
this is actually a walmart that you can walk in, get what you need, and walk out of in 5 minutes. where else can you do that these days? now every walmart has 50 check out lanes and 2 cashiers working, or has 20 self checks outs with only 2 working and everybody that is in line to use them has to wait for the customer service rep to come over to OK a purchase. give me the old timey walmart any day of the week.

dam thats old the walmart nare me wich is 15 years old is set to add on and be a super center but ther not going to have all the exters and i been to my frist super walmart 2 yearsago on the 27th and i like it i cant waite until the walmart nare me becomes one
@remo2012 I'd give up our Super Walmart, and the one 20 mins away which is even bigger, just to have our old Walmart "Discount Store" back. Back then the stores were inviting, not overwhelming, and the people were friendly. I miss the old format.
They are redoing our local walmart, it's gonna be a huge Super Walmart in 2 weeks, can not wait! I love Walmart

I miss our walmart like that one. It burnt up 24 years ago. Our super
walmart is too big for me. Where the original one burnt up is now a
new supermarket in it's place. I also live in Madisonville. Madisonsville

There's a old regular Wal-Mart in Geneva, Alabama that's still operating. It's abnormally small for even the old stores!
