sonic generations is a great game in its entirety and yes sega put a great amount of effort into this (also sega of america's comedy did add a lighter touch to the game) but i felt like the game was WAAAY too fucking short as goes for the main stages. If you really want to do all of those side missions it'll be a good amount of play time but besides that it was waay too fucking short.

@spritekingdom2 Sega rushes every single one of their games. For instance, SA2 was apparently supposed to have a couple more levels in it, but didnt. Sonic '06...well, EVERYONE knows why that one sucked. This game was pretty good, but like you said, was WAY too short and I thought the final boss wasn't epic enough like the other games. In my opinion these are the reasons why you don't see Sega's name on a console anymore. Video games nowadays aren't as good as they used to be. xP

SEGA really do love this Hedgehog Engine. Ever since they've implemented it, the Sonic games that've featured it have recieved high praise. Even the people who hated Unleashed liked it because of Sonic's new gameplay. So it's easy to think that they won't be changing the overall gameplay for a while. I'd say it'll get stale after a while, but...*glares at Super Mario 3D Land and Galaxy 2* they've still go quite sometime before people go, "Same shit, different game."

May it be the storyline or the gameplay, I've always enjoyed the Sonic series.

Classic Sonic and Classic Tails became aquainted while the Modern Sonic levels were happening, Modern Tails met his classic self through a different timeline.
