Puget actually did a comparison of cooling this case as it's meant to be used and if you turn it so the the motherboard is oriented like a normal tower case and found that the "stack effect" didn't affect the temperature at all. Apparently the force of the stock fans on their lowest setting is far greater than any forces related to the buoyancy of hot air. Google for "Puget dissects vertical vs. horizontal chassis cooling"
I'd still buy an ft02 because they're pretty, if it wasn't so expensive.
Plus, Silverstone paid great attention to the small details, which is evident in the [design] side and top filters, the sleek design; reminds me of a Lexus! If Silverstone implements what I described previously, they will be the king of computer cases for some time to come.
I HOPE [and pray] Silverstone DOES NOT forget about the Raven RV01. What I mean is, the Raven RV02 and RV03 editions are evolutions/revolutions of the RV01. However, the RV01 design is perfect at every angle; rear, front, sides, and top. Many also prefer the size of the case, oppose to a scaled down version with 02 and 03 model. All the RV01 needs is a refresh; AP fans, USB 3.0, HP-ATX support for SR-2 motherboard, and this case will top them all!!!
anyone us the Noctua NH-D14 air cooler with this case? I am building a new PC and this is the case I am going with, just not sure about that beast Noctua being mounted to a vertical Mother Board, wouldn't want it to bend it so I'm curious if anyone has any experience or insight?
sorry but where is the smoke machine actually pushing in, it should just be sprayed in the room not directly onto the computer?? not very good testing
I happen to be a proud owner of this case, but there's something I must ask. Can you fit Tri-Sli or Tri-Crossfire on the Rampage II Extreme within this case? It seems you couldn't due to how low the third pci-express slot is.
The reason I ask is because I was considering on purchasing the Rampage II Extreme.
Hey sorry I cant help you with your question but maybe you could help me with mine? I am thinking of getting this case but because it is made out of plastic I feel it make be tacky feeling and looking when I get the real thing by feeling I mean weak plastic and a cheap look. is it anything like I described or is it strong plastic with a tough but clean look?
I have this case and it is HUGE, but oh so lovely. All i replaced was the 120mm fan at the top with a 2000rpm, 90CFM, 19dB-A fan and used some Antec formula 5 silver thermal compound on stock CPU cooler and i get 35C idle temps and 40-45 under load.
If i had a custom cooler i could easily reach under 30 idle and 35-40 load. My only prob is the lack of fans. A second one at the top would been awesome. The raven 02 (RV02) will be showing this June/July with release by the end of the year
it makes a little noise, but nothing noticeable once you have headphones on or speakers on. even in a silent environment its nice and quiet, and now, in Australia the Raven sells for around $220 instead of $300 when i got it
they wont show the temps cause its going to be very hot, what they are trying to prove is that it takes colling in a natural way. hot air raises, wont have to worry about the heat from the gpu affecting the cpu. 2 thumbs up for silverstone, great inovation
@glenmb94 hey dumb fuck, my comment was to comment on another guy a while back he was talkin about some other matter, learn to read you blind ass hole......i did say its a good "innovation". Stupid kid, u have learn to use youtube but unfortunately you haven't learn to be a human
@KingOfSand100 dude...i have had many replies, actually my comment was a reply to another guy, its about something else....and dude, back then there wasnt even RV02 which is the best cooling solution ive ever seen. cheers and enjoy the case :D
@produKtNZ go get a life, "cooling" is just one spelling mistake, and its a typo, lame bastard no other work other then to troll around on youtube comments
I bought one, they are bigger than i thought! Love this case :D Only downside is PSU bay has unprotected fans that wires get caught in. Also its abit plastic.

How can you make a case today and not include a cutout in the motherboard tray for the CPU cooler?
tmar23 6 months ago
Does this case suport xl-atx motherboards? Like the msi big bang marshal?
TmXGolden 6 months ago
A major flaw: To much plastic! The exterior should be in aluminum and I wish it had a hole at the mobo tray.

Bad music loops make all these silverstone vids painful to watch. Better music, or none. Corsair here I come.

@RobyWAn32 if it isnot sprayed in it will stay outside the case plus there not spraying it up there sptraying it into the case

@thelilhacker it will suck it in naturally, but still not avery good test.

@RobyWAn32 WTF? If the room was full of smoke you wouldn't be able to prove the natural rising heat. Idiot.

No concern about residue from the fog machine?
Frosttty 2 years ago
@Frosttty Lol! but fail... it's an awsome case.. maybe doe got the cooling power of a haf 932 but it's feature set is 50x better
madzane94 1 year ago
There's no problem about that, as it's dry ice smoke, which means it has reeeaally low humidity and won't leave residues, it's clean.
Also, when they put the cooling back, it will kinda clean the residues, if any

Of course you did. Those 2000rpm, 90CFM, 19dB fans must be from outer space!

What are the temps like at this 30min point?
If they can prove the case can keep a 920+4850 rig at reasonable temperatures while fanless... this case could take off big time.
