How could someone sabotage his psi blades?I mean those are something permanent. The Psi Blade to a Protoss Zealot(in this case Fenix) are like the Predator's Wristblade, they always have them.Or take another example, does a Jedi Knight ever leaves his light saber home?Never...
@Legyonaru90 psy blades are combination of protoss innate psy energy and their technology. Two ways of sabotage here could be chemical (he could have ingested poison of some sort to mess with his ability to use psy energies) or mechanical (messing with his suit ore something). P.S. Lightsaber is distructible just as the Force is corruptible, young padawan ;)
Still there isn't a clear explination of what hapened, the zerg couldn't have sabotaged him, they arent' capable of such complex actions, there actions are limited to destruction and self protection, these only leaves one option, he might have been sabotaged by another Protoss, that is however unlikely, maybe some poison, but he seemed quite all right to me, the producers should have thought to offer a more obvious scene, these leaves to many interpretations.
@Legyonaru90 That is exactly the point of my first response to this question. He was betrayed by other Protoss factions. I don't remember the storyline exactly but as I recall the cinematic's name is "Betrayal of Fenix". I know that Matriarch was involved in it. I could be wrong because I don't remember the storyline. Check out the archives at sclegacy.com
It's also strange that there weren't any other Protoss troops there, though Aldaris said that he would leave a small detachement there, so were's that small detachement?Maybe they were in lunch break, lol.
@Legyonaru90 Fenix fell at Antioch from being worn out. Protoss are not immortals, they can bleed, and therefore they can Die. Fenix and his detachment simply fought to the bloody (protoss blood) end.
They made the cinematics before they finished the game, that's why you see some units behaving differently (like the cinematic with Sarge and the guy in the tower.. the artillery cannon). So maybe Zealots used to use energy to power their weapons? Who knows.
I like how when the first dragoon dies, they play almost every "death sound" protoss has.

most of this cool stuff couldn't have happened in HOTS as protoss no longer have carriers and can no longer cloak their army :(

OH SHIT WHY NOW

I never understood why Fenix's psi blades faded and he couldn't fight back, if somebody knows, I would really apreciate to find out.

@Legyonaru90 I always thought that he was betrayed by the opposing fractions (sabotage). That is what I gather from the storyline. I could be wrong..
