  • My family and I loved this! I can remember the intro to this film which you missed off this which shows Paul going into an attic I think and an old trunk which he pulls out a scarf like Rupert's and the book!

  • q recuerdo0s :D

  • this just shows Paul McCartney is good at everything he does

  • haha, that doesn't sound like Paul at ALL.

ah, but it's cute all the same.

  • Amo este video, es bello y me trae gratisimos recuerdos.

  • Paul does the voice of Rupert XD

  • I love it when the owl shushes the cats, his movement after the "shhh" always makes me laugh, hes just so irritated! Haha

  • i always love that little frog rowing along in the tin cup, warbling to itself.

  • What really pisses me off is that Paul M. was always talking about financing a full length Rupert film and was in conference etc and never did it.

  • I love the mpl logo music. Love to know where i could get hold of it. Remember it haunting me as a young whippersnapper, as did the whole bloody thing. Grew up watching this video at least once a week.

  • @prosser243 Same here. George Martin (the composer) did a brilliant job.

  • @RogueRotting360 actually George Martin was the producer. Paul McCartney was the singer and the one who decided to do the movie and music

  • @4FabBEATLES No. George Martin was the one did most of the work. He arranged it for a full orchestra, produced it, and gave it its scale..

  • @RogueRotting360 u mean Paul McCartney

  • omg Paul sounds like when he was wit the Beatles in the early 60s wit that cute voice of his he is a good actor

  • wtf is that mpl logo about OMG

  • @dreadwing I know, it scared me as a kid, I'd have to fast forward it lol

  • Love thiss

Got this on video but the player is up in the loft :(

  • It's just so very English!

    Spiffing I say.

  • As a Brit, I would have to agree with you chap! ;)

  • que recuerdos, jejeje, super, ya que esta completo, saludos.

  • i got the video its epic

  • i had the rupert and the frong song video also when i was yunger,my mum gave it away and i have literally been looking for it for years!!!!!!! i remember it being soooo random and there was a seen that looked kind of tropical witha black woman, looking back brings so many memories, such a random film lol, omg i totally remember the baby badger at the beginning also and all the music...it is very strange watching it back now :S x x

  • seaside woman, you should look it up, it's on youtube too. it's from linda mccarthy and the wings.

  • Such a lovely world Mary toutel.

Thank you for brinnning Rupert to us all:)

This animation reminds me of watership down.Same style

  • Surreal seeing this again after about 18 or 20 years. Had forgotten about the evil owl and cats. Only wish the image were clearer. :D I think it preceded any of the Rupert TV series. I remember Disney airing this back in the late 80s or early 80s, I even remember the opening sequence with the juggling guy. Since they didn't make it, they'd never air anything like this today...shithole network.

  • i remeber i had this on video when i was a kid. it had seaside woman and another song on it too !

  • The other song was the Oriental Nightfish... if you watch that now you'll be astounded at how bizarre and trippy it was! I also had Rupert and the Frog song on video tape, and remember all this stuff--right down to the opening logos--from my childhood.

  • yeah, if you get the DVD now, it's got two new videos. one's a song by McCartney, Tropic Island Hum and the other is based on a book about flying frogs called Tuesday. Still pwns tho.

  • but, does it still include "seaside woman" and "oriental nightfish"???

  • nope, lost to the archives of vhs. :(

  • aww, that sucks, I was about to buy the dvd on amazon, but I'm glad I found this out before.

  • yeah, it blows, but it's the only way to get rupert. =/

  • Wonderful! It'w like a dream!Thanks for charing!

  • Oooh Windsor Davies does Dad frog's voice... cool or what.

  • June Whitfield is Mummy but I'm not sure who does Daddy's voice, I think Rupert may be voiced by Paul McCartney... not totally sure tho'

The 3 huge frogs always reminded my children of their Dad and uncles tee hee...

  • Wow I've not seen this since I was a kid and I'm 27. I used to get freeked out my so many things here. The juggler at the start, the Owl and the Cats. I had the old VHS with Seaside Woman and The Oriental Night fish. They freeked me out too. Awsome

  • This aired on the Disney Channel back when the channel used to be quality.

  • Yeah, I think the creepy music adds to the creepy juggler too!!!

  • omg i absolutely love the intro bit wher the guy juggles moons, it creeps me out still, but in a good way. i love the linda mcarny videos :)

  • i also still think that mpl is creepy even now as child i hid when that bit came on

  • ye iam 17 and it brings bk memories u can stil watch it if u get up early on weekdays on milkshake or on citv

  • Sweet and lovely. God bless Paul McCartney.

  • Beautifull animation very nice song..this brings back memories..I miss this kind of animation and music..and I'm 27!

  • I wonder how old I was when I first seen this... when was it out, about 20 years ago? Good memories and the owl's still creepy!

  • oh my god!!!

Life has moved on so much....

I am so glad to see this.. i am 18 and i saw this when i was 2..

  • This is how childhood should be free and adventurous.

  • The mpl ident still gives me the creeps

  • really? lol. i love it. it used to scare me a little though, to be fair.

  • The owl with the red eyes still scares me.

  • sweet memories

  • I tryed to find this movie everywhere, but couldn't find it. And now it's here on youtube...I love it!

  • when was this made?

  • Love this vid, watched it all the time when i was little and loved it so much!! Win or lose, sink or swim, one thing is certain we'll never give in!Side by side, hand in hand we all stand together!!!

  • I always loved this as a child, it makes me cry! So adorable and refreshing! Thanks for sharing!

  • OMG!!!!! I used to watch this all the time when I was just a wee little one, and I haven't seen it since!!! Thank you very very VERY much for posting it!!!

  • Oh my gosh! I remember this cartoon! Thanks for uploading!!

  • Here is a classic example of why film companies shouldn't necessarily get bent out of shape when someone posts one of their films on YouTube: I had never seen Rupert and the Frog Song before viewing it today on YouTube. I immediately went to Amazon and purchased the DVD "Paul McCartney - Music & Animation Collection". (which has Rupert , plus two other animated films produced by Paul M. and his collaborator Geoff Dunbar .

  • Completamente de acuerdo. Eso pasa con las cosas que en verdad valen.

  • esta completa!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Off to the hills!

  • This is so, so nice. I'm so glad someone still has it.
