I was listening to this clip and wondering why Peter Mattei sounded so awful compared to his usual standard. Then I read the information and realised it wasn't him. Thank goodness haha, I thought he lost his talent!
No offence to Wachter. His singing is fine, but not "beautiful" as i would expect from Mattei.
Though I thought that the voices were wonderful in this performance, the modern sets and costumes were dreadful and unimaginative-It looked like something we did in high school years ago for a Kafka play.
I am totally agree with you.. Peter mussbach's scene was. Disappointing....i dont know if you have seen this production.. Voices were not something special.. Mattei was the best..
Anyway voices in my video is from EMI's don giovanni with Carlo Maria Guilini...one of my favourites

I totally agree with you about Mattei.
As far as it concerns Wachter,it is one recording that i love with many famous voices, wachter is fabulous in this,at least i think so...
