Peter and Ace worked really hard for the reunion tour in 1996. I saw them on that tour at the St. Paul Civic Center one of the last shows before they tore it down. They sounded fresh and tight. I myself was rejuvenated and It felt like I was in 7th grade all over again.
It's easy to sit behind a computer and criticize Peter, but the fact is in the 70's he seemed like he had a purpose, maybe it's old age or maybe it's just the fact that he hasn't done any serious music playing since he was asked to leave Kiss.
@nastymonsters2 Actually, I thought he was surprisingly good on the Reunion Tour - for what he can do. However, come Psycho Circus and the Farewell Tour, it was sad. But Ace wasn't much better either.
@nastymonsters2 His peak was around the time of "Alive". If you listen to the following tours (or solos), the quality of his playing dips and dips dramatically. Shame as he was my first drumming influence.
@stevedrums - In my opinion Criss was good on the reunion-tour. And i think at the Psycho-Circus and Farewell-Tour too. The last time i saw Kiss live was 2010 at Rock am Ring, it was really horrible, it was so bad, very disappointing. I asked myself: What the f*** have i paid for? Gene sounds like Redfoxx and Pauls voice says adios. After the year 2000 at the Farewell-Tour the magic was over, they should have quit Kiss with the original style and makeup.
There is a teacher in Nashville that he learned from in the 90's on how to play conservative. Less arm movements and purposely relaxed. He did this to battle his tarpel syndrome, arthritis and yes, age too. Watch Ringo, Watts, and Henley play. They do the same thing.
looks like peter hasn't miss'd a step at all. he still looks just as good as he did back in the early days of the band. keep on rocking peter you look great

Shut the fuck up haters! This is a great perspective on what it's like to be a drummer! Best albums with KISS were Peter Criss!!!!

All the drugs and drinking screwed up his drumming speed, he plays so slow and soft, poor guy.
