if sociliezed medicine is soo evil how come all the industrialized countries to some degree have it? this asshole is a sellout to the HMOs, speeking of which should be nationalized. profiting off other peoples suffering in unaceptable, yet america seems to do this quite often, with HMO's, prisons and war.
Because humans evolved in small group environments, we have this impetus to extend the norms of the family to the society as a whole. Not only industrialized countries do it, but throughout Africa's centrally planned economies, the state runs hospitals and clinics as well, and in America the system is hardly free: for instance, consider half of health expenditure is by government.
Anyway, under freedom you'd be able to choose to go to volunteer-run hospitals, or whatever that suits you. I mean, if you can get the critical mass to vote for such system, why don't you think people would organize it or otherwise patronize it in a voluntary basis?
Health insurance is just another mafia protection racket. In traditional Chinese medicine, the physician does not get paid until and unless the services are effective.
Monopolies are illegal for a reason, and this is a good example of why that is..
Zero tolerance for corporations. Eradicate all monopolies.
Homeowners. Didn't you just get ripped off?
Aren't they blaming you for it? Let's put those people in charge of health care, see how far that gets you.
i thought this was gonna be something completely different, but i really see what this guy is saying. Doctors have too many regulations, and legal implications placed on them. I would be scared to death exactly for the reasons this guy pointed out.
I live in Australia where there is a semi-"socialised" medical system and it ensures that rich, poor, everyone gets access to health care.
The UK, where I have lived, has an even better system which provides top health care to everyone.
The difference is, in the US, doctors are instant millionaires, whereas in Australia and the UK, doctors are simply well-off, hey just don't make the ridiculous salaries of their US counterparts.
My uncle is a surgeon and anesthesiologist who supports a mixed economy in Healthcare.

All the rich people of the industrialized world buy private or come to the U.S.
HMO's are not free market healthcare. You need to learn some economics.

"Health insurance is just another mafia protection racket."
insurance companies and government regulations fucked up health care and we're suppose to believe that more government is the solution?
"...the physician does not get paid until and unless the services are effective."
that sounds like a good idea!

I do really wish we had universal health care that focused on prevention. My country would be so much better if that were the case.
