This is a great video - very comprehensive & good handling practices. Kiwis really know how to do it right! Cheers!! Drenching is deworming, more or less.
@jonnypinknuckles TY for the response. As it turned out I was present while my Step-dad wormed the cattle a few weeks ago so I kinda figured it out. lol
Not a fan of the whole antler removal..... besides, once it was time to process the animal, you could probably sell the antlers to companies to use for stuff.
@Jl200 it all depends cause if you only have 2 or 3 bucks you dont really need to interact with them that much so you can let them keep there antlers but if you are farming a hole lot of bucks then it is required
What a great way of farming! I live in Finland and I eat a lot of imported New Zealand deer and sheep. Its healthy and tasty. A far cry from the usual mistreated cows and pigs.
@Darvas73 hey at least cows and pigs are domesticated deer belong in the wild obliously their scaried of humans, not a smart animal to try and domesicate lol
Am I the only one who's reminded of Fenton when they where rounding the deer?

It's essential to cut the antlers off to protect employees of the farm as they can be dangerous.

Never really thought of it that way. Totally makes sense. I sure as hell would NOT want to be sceward by a deer :D
