I did found out that Walt Disney was not just one of two creators of Mickey Mouse but he's also the first voice ever of Mickey Mouse as well. Some cartoon characters were voiced by their own creators. That's often and usual.
@PikachuJackskeling94 It WAS Pete! Its from "Mr. Mouse Takes a Trip" (circa. 1940) where Mickey attempts hiding his pet, Pluto, from Pete the Conductor . But Pete is aware of the scheme and plans ratting Mickey out with a loud cat-screech. Good ear, my friend!
Starting in the late 1940's, James "Jimmy" MacDonald succeeded Walt Disney as the voice of Mickey Mouse, that is until the 1970's, when the late Wayne Allwine took over as the voice of Mickey Mouse, and then he kicked the bucket in 2009. Later that year, Bret Iwan became the current voice of Mickey Mouse. And that's the brief history of Mickey Mouse's voice.
:) This is funny. Bletcher is shorter than Walt, and he's doing Pete's voice! XD Now I've seen everything. Walt was still doing Mickey's voice around this time. He stopped in 1947, due to the harsh effects smoking had on his vocal cords.
Say what you will, believe what you will. I won't try to stop you...but I still don't believe you, and you're not going to convince me otherwise. Sorry.
You people disguse me. Don't just wuss out of a conversation like, "believe what you want to cause I won't stop you" alright. Get pissed off and angry at me. Call me a stupid asshole. SOMETHING!!!
I'm not going to childishly insult you. That won't do anything. But I will say that Walt Disney is a great hero in the entertainment industry. I do not believe for one minute that he was a jerk.
@menslady125 There seems to be some trend among the younger generation today to insult Disney as much as possible, and I assume that Indycritic is one of the followers.
I remember watching this! Back in the late 90s, I used to wake up at like, 5 A.M. every weekday morning so that I could watch The Ink and Paint Club. Sigh...I miss those days!
Hmmm. A little guy voiced by a tall guy, and a big guy voiced by a short guy. Very surreal. I find it great that Mickey's voice was originally provided by his creator! :)
Walt Disney was a Genius. Walt and Clarence Nash, the original voice of Donald Duck were my inspiration into voice acting. I have done the voice of Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Mickey Mouse and Goofy for over 20 years. Please click on my Screen Name to view my Presentation. I submitted my Resume to Walt Disney Studios recently and hope to be a backup for these voices until Tony and Bill are ready to pass on the Tradition. Congrats to Bret Iwan. Rest in Peace Wayne Allwine.
i knew since i was a kid that Walt did mickey's voice (i did a research paper on him in 5th grade), but actually SEEING walt do mickey's voice is a totally different experience
I remember seeing this a long time ago. It was when I first discovered that Walt Disney was the man behind Mickey. Billy Bletcher too.
It's a real shame that people back then didn't know about the harmful effects of smokng: Walt would have lived a great deal longer than he did. The vision of today's world would be very different. The company itself would be drastically different as well.
I remember this clip. :) I've said it once and I'll say a thousand times more if I have to. GET RID OF THE MODERN DISNEY AND BRING BACK THE CLASSIC!!!! We miss this stuff. :)
amazing!!!the best mickey voice ever, also its very difficult to do what walt did at 46 seconds, his voice went from the high pitched mickey to a low pitched male, again amazing. that billy bletcher is also something else, hes a short man yet his voice makes him sound bigger and taller. RIP walt and billy and the rest of the people who were involved in disney classic, that left this world,RIP fellas you guys are responsible for giving disney that magical spark.
the year before walt stopped doing mickey, you can tell its a bit tough on his voice
