@FireKidSFFD Smallville fell off a lot after they lost most of the original creative minds that started the show. After season 6 it def fell off for a while. But, there were a few episodes such as this one that had some really good moments.
this never made sense in the context of the show. If the JSA were active before Clark arrived on earth, then why is everyone on the show so surprised in the early seasons when people with powers show up?
@JimmyColls The appearance of dozens in a small area would be a bit of a shock and most of the original JSA were mystery men, that is ordinary people like Batman only with only one or two tricks, not Batman's swiss army knife mind and body... and past. (I write this stuff as a hobby and like under-powered heroes.)
