I learned "The Engineer Song" the first day my cohert platoon formed(March 1987) when we got out of Airborne School and reported to A/37th Engineer, Combat Airborne Company. Our Platoon Sergeant SFC Deschriver(Big D), and Squad Leader SSG Kear(Pappy) and the rest of the NCO's apon processing us into the company threw a Beer bash for the new platoon and taught us the Engineer Song; which was a tradition going back to WWII of Brithish and US Engineers fighting together!
