  • Hi, what type of headers did you use?

  • @lkvf

They are Edelbrock 4th gen F-body shortys. Since they're made to use a Y-pipe, the drivers side requires a VERY sharp bend to point towards the back of the car.

  • Gotta love the 3rd gen Trans Ams.

This video makes me love my LT1 more. :p

  • Amazing! I used to own a 95 Trans Am. I really miss that LT1. :(

  • I am planing on using Corvette Ac I am also swaped the 4L60e transmission fom the 94 Vette your Lt1 sounds great

  • I am doing a 86 blue IROC Z with a 94 Corvette LTI with header's just going thru the wiring work on the fuel pump relay connections

  • did you change the pcm at all?

im thinking about doing a swap also

  • I wish I still had my 86 Firebird.

  • Still have/drive the car? I rember when this was going on seen it on TGO.

  • Still have it, occasionally drive it. It's got some gremlins that have cropped up over the years, so it's parked a majority of the time. We hope to have everything sorted out again by summer.

  • hey how did u guys deal with the wiring harness dat goes from the computer to the dashboard..

  • did u guys used the old K-member or an after market one? same with motor mounts? thanks

  • The K-member is stock. We're not running A/C, so we didn't need to clearance anything either.

  • ya, i did some research and u used the AC delete (GM Part Number 10115875).. and since u had a V8, u didnt need to change the springs. i may get my LT1 from a 94 Buick Roadmaster or Cadillac Fleetwood. u used the 700R4 or the 4L60E?? i gonna go for the 4L60E; it a newer tranny too. good video ;)

  • We used the 4L60-E that came in the donor Camaro.

  • @ktuga11 Looks like he used the stock K-member. The mounts are the same as SBC mounts.

Did this swap on my GTA. It loves the cold air. :)

  • very nice work and sounds awesome, I have a 91 trans am same color as yours, I have a LT4 motor in it, we need more of those trans ams on the road :)

  • Awesome video! TOo bad it didn't show what you were doing.. I'm in the process of an LT1/M6 swap into my 87 GTA... :D

  • lol loved the Benny Hill music

  • It's an aluminum head motor. It's all stock with teh exception of Edelbrock headers which came with the car. We used the stock Camaro wiring harness out of our parts car.

  • nice work, im doin an one in a 72 chevelle. wish me luck, i hate fuel injection wiring.

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO! I love the corvette covers you use. Is this alum head or cast iron? Did you modify your camshaft or valve springs? Headers?Im doing the same with to a 73 ventura/gto with a 1995 LT1 iron head. Did you go with painless wiring or did you do it yourself? I have the full wiring kit but i may just go with painless instead.

  • Thats awesome. I want to put an LT-1 in my 91 caprice. Sleeper car. Do you have the links to those wire diagrams? or any tips to doing this transfer?

  • nice work. I have a 94 6-M Z28 and my friend beat my 13.86 et with a 13.05. in his LT1 1988 IROC m-5 with headers and like 2 small boltons

  • looks good how much did the engine cost u?

  • well if its a 93 then somebody already swapped in that LS1

  • Excellent job! I've got a '93 LS1 z28 I'm gonna swap out for a wrecked '01 SS' LS1.

  • whats the check engine light going on for? lol

sounds and looks great. i just got a 89 with a 305 and was thinking about going bigger.
