  • he reminds me jack shapherd from the series "lost"

  • I like what U have to say. Very simple and insightful. Thank U Brother G D Bless U.

  • I'm not sure that the differences between modern orthodoxy & chassidism are really as you describe. While chalav yisrael, pas yisrael & daily mikveh for men may be more prominent in the chassidic world, I doubt that anywhere near all hassidim do these things.

I see 3 major differences: 1) Secular studies 2) Religious Zionism (though diff hassidic groups view this diff) 3) Women's issues. Chabad is less diff from MO on these than most Hassidim.

  • @wafelsen chabad is based on pagan-sourced witchcraft known as "chassidus" and is unrelated to anything in judaism.

chabad is known best for its support of corporal punishment and use of hookers by married chabad men to mitigate the stress of "family purity" laws.

  • @wafelsen look into the origin of chassidut.

are you Jewish or was your mother a shiksahasid?

  • what hap to your beard u shaved it all off??

  • @devoneh91 You just answered yourself...

  • I have to let you know, that the more I learn the more I realize that there is very little difference between the two. Many people keep the black garments and the hat for Shabbos and wear modern clothes during the week. A lot of the Lubavitcher minhagim are based on the Kabolah. That being said, chassidim are simply Ashkenazim ( for the most part ) who share minhagim with the sefardim.

  • Can someone tell me why so many Hasidic Groups hated the Lubavitcher REBBE and his followers? When every time you seen him he was PUSHING for all jews

And can you tell me the difference between them?

  • Sure, well The Lubavitcher Rebbe was a great success, he abolished the Chassidesh hat, and replaced it with a fedora to appeal to the less religious. He was huge on outreach, there was no hate against the Rebbe, just tension. The messianic followers "Yechi" who belive The Rebbe is Moshiach, is more frowned upon by other Jews. Besides that Chabad is awesome. if you have any more questions please ask! :D im happy to answer.

  • What happened to your beard? Well now you look on the outside as you believe on the inside.

  • Please have respect for those who have passed on/left this world. You have quite an issue if you wish to attempt an insult on someone who has already passed. It shows that you have no intention to make a point.

  • I have no idea what you are talking about. (Why don't you inform rather than chastise?) I'm assuming from your rude comments to me, that the person featured in this video is dead. maybe he was a rock star in your circles, but I don't/ didn't know him from Adam. What is YOUR point? Are you the YouTube politeness police? Maybe if the person who sponsored this video informed, rather than hawking their wares, in an add, I would have known more.

  • ROFL. I'm sorry if I offended you. And I don't want to seem like the "politeness police" since I know that is a very strongly worded insult on the fourth-grade playground nowadays. He's dead, have some respect. -Please-

With a sarcastic cherry on top ^__^ Byee~~

  • You are obviously bored to create such a "non-issue" with me. I don't have any more time to invest in replying to your caustic wit and insults--I am going to go and read the Tanakh.

You are like a fly at a picnic. (They call them pests for a reason.) Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

  • You are beautiful

  • Examples of people living in both worlds: Shumely Boteach, Jason Bedrick, Matisyahu, Dov Hikind. etc.. also (yosef Yitzhak Kazen).

I recomend watching: The Goan and the Maggid on YT by rabbichaimmoshe.

Last point: Hassidim and MO, Reform ETC, are Just Labels. WE ARE ALL JEWS, it depends on your level of observance/understand you stand on at your particular moment in life.

A jew is a jews is a jew, and our connection to G-D is all same and yet unique to one own abilities.

  • I think this is the most important point to remember. It is never right to label people. We are all unique in so many ways.

Labels are just an intellectual cop out people use to try to understand groups of people.

The same is true about judging a person by their garb. This is almost never accurate or reliable.

To really understand anyone, you have to sit down and talk to them.

Great point - I wish more people would discuss this topic more in the Jewish and secular world.

  • Piggy Backing on what you said. I think They do talk about this, at least in My circle. Why do you think Hassidim wear black clothes and all look a like With similar payot and beards? The clothes, particularly the color black and the beard represent humility and humbleness. Look at the Hassidim or Haredim at a whole (from a outsider's perspective) u notice that they all look the same, but u have to get to know a person by his personality and characteristic - the gem of the person.

  • This is an excellent point that is often times lost in American society - we should be looking more at people's character traits and less at their appearance.

I still don't understand many things about American society...

  • Another great Video, Thanx. A few point I'd make. Hassidim follow their "Hassidic Philosophies" (& Rebbe/s), each vary by group. Hassidim can be modern orthodox & Visa Versa. EX: From my mini thesis: I consider myself a Chabad Hosid, but I live in 2 World that I unite in 1. 1 Jewish/Hasidic World + 1 Secular World. The goal is the make the mundane world spiritual and an abode for G-D himself, by infusing this world with spirituality and G-dliness. Thus, becoming a "heaven on Earth".

  • Another excellent video!

I highly recommend that non-Jews & even secular Jews read "Holy Days: The World Of The Hasidic Family" by Lis Harris and "The Rebbe's Army: Inside the World of Chabad-Lubavitch" by Sue Fishkoff.

I would avoid reading "Unchosen: The Hidden Lives of Hasidic Rebels" by Hella Winston only because it's depressing & repetitious.

Instead I'd read "Off the Derech: Why Observant Jews Leave Judaism - How to Respond to the Challenge" by Faranak Margolese.

  • I could not agree more with you :)
