  • My fav fighter

  • Lyoto machida = Karate, not muay thai, FUCKERS!

  • @DigaOUp his bjj blACK BELT, WRESTLER AND MUAY THAI FIGHTER .IF HE WOULD BE JUST KARATE HE COULD NOT FIGHT IN MMA FUCKER

  • @Freestyleartclub just karate and bjj

  • @DigaOUp in your dream after shogun fucked him his training muay thai with anderson silva, at blackhouse gym. thay gym does not train karate..and he is wrestling champion also. only morons can belivie his fighter because karate?

  • @DigaOUp look at this video do you see any karate?fake gyakuziki or zenkut su dachi?this is muay thai

  • @DigaOUp Yes but in this video he is training in Thai!

  • thers alwayys 1 asshole on here who thinks they no everything... if hes not doing the knees right why dnt you go and teach him you silly spear chucker !

  • Man, that's some good trainin' there.

  • Last dude Machida is sparring with looks like Rampage...ironically lol

  • sup with the alien music?

  • Coach Daniel!

  • He is a fantastic martial artist..BUT those are not muay thai knees...hes not trusting the hip forwrd as he strikes with the knee..hes just lifting his knee up (anyone who trains mauy thia will understand)...im not saying hes no good im just saying the knees are not great..! :)

  • @simonmarshall1 shit maybe he should hire you as his trainer so a former ufc light weight champion can gain your wisdom on striking

  • @Aliology dont have to be a champ to see those knees are shit..like i said hes a great fighter but if u have ever trained at a decent thai gym u wud know those kness are GARBAGE

  • @Freestyleartclub his stance, movement, punches are karate and his kicks too...muay thai kick more straight when doing a roundhouse whereas karate snaps their kicks. This video obviously just shows him working on elbow and knee techniques.

  • Hey what song is this??

  • @Gavanshir Ok nevermind saw it.

  • Vai pra cima Lyoto! Vamo atropelar o Jon Jones!

  • i want to see this MT trainer fight against Machida..

  • Eventually everyone turns to Muay-Thai.

  • Machida is the best. Period

  • this insnt anything new for him, hes been training mt for years. mostly to know how to counter it, but he have and is using some of its techniques in fights. like the mt clinch for instance

  • Shogun

  • hes adapting mixing his strikes nd stances up in th ring, keep his opponents guessing, on to it

  • I think its funny that people are telling one of the best strikers ever to stop doing what works for him.

  • @Prophet4201 Yeah, They should spar so Machida could teach that guy a lesson

  • @Prophet4201 i'm sure he wanted to learn muay thai, seeing how insanely good his training partner anderson is. i doubt his coaches are forcing him to change. i think hes learning to drop it now, he pretty much said it in his post fight interview on saturday that he went back to karate for the most part.

  • @bizzle187 No I was talking about all the comments on how he should take Kyokushin Karate to be better when styles quite frankly don't mean shit. He's going to and should keep using his elusive style. Just like with any fighter. Why would you tell them to abandon their best at?

  • IMHO, I think Machida should start training in Kyokushin also.

  • @FreekyDeeky21 that would be great, more adaptable to him and dangerous as hell

  • @bangermccrusher Right. And since Kyokushin is a little more offensive than Shotokan, it may get people off his back about being a defensive fighter.

  • lyoto is an outstanding fighter

  • Lol@ you idiots who think he hasn't trained in muay Thai b4.

  • this is were machida went wrong

  • @ItalianTankJoeDre so true!

  • @ItalianTankJoeDre wait, he went wrong training where the best fighter in the world trains? weird...

  • @JMoore4291 yeah dumbass that is were he went wrong he didnt stick to his true karate you dumb cunt

  • @ItalianTankJoeDre wow, ur more of an idiot then i though, your mom shoulda swallowed you like the rest of your brothers and sisters faggot

  • @ItalianTankJoeDre sticking to his true karate isnt allowed in mma. And karate uses knees and elbows constantly. Kicks are less commonly used in karate despite how its seen in the public eye.

  • Machida is the man!

  • he seems confused listening to the guy. trying to apply muay thai techniques over top of karate must be hard as hell when you've burned technique from the latter since you were a kid. the kicks and knees are so much different, not to mention the stance and guard!

  • @bizzle187 Nah LYOTO doesn't look confused,it looks like he's looking for the midground that allows him to flow seamlessly from technique to technique. And THE DRAGON is one technical dude.He got it pretty well.Ask another great one...Randy Couture.

  • @ATACXGYM i don't think you understand what i'm saying. he looks confused here and the mt techniques hes foing don't look very good. lyoto is easily the best karate practitioner in all of mma. his thai boxing isn't very good though. i think he'll have greater success doing what he has been doing since he was a kid, which is karate, and leave the muay thai alone. he even said in his last fight he did mostly karate and look at what happened.

  • @bizzle187 No I understand and I appreciate where you're coming from...I just think that he'll blend MT and karate into a more karate oriented hybrid that will work better for him.Once he nails that? He'll be even more amazingly dangerous than he is now.I completely agree that Lyoto is the best karateka in MMA that I've seen. When he gets better leg kick defense, moves his head more and not just pivot his body? He will have the fair weathr friends back on his side and silence most of the haters

  • @bizzle187 Actually, the knees and elbows in Mauy Thai are virtually the same in all forms of Karate and TKD as well since thats really the usual way they are used, aside from maybe a knee after a front roundhouse for example. Also, he trains it to learn how to counter it, and the elbows and knees are universal, just MT gets alot of credit for allowing them more in sparring. :D

  • @wiggalama perfectly said

  • @wiggalama you don't know shit about technique if thats what you think

  • @mrpedrotafolla90 Wow faggot, brilliant arguement, I mean, I only spent the last 6 years practicing Shotokan, TKD, Judo, doing amateur MMA and I am going infantry and airborne being a special forces canidate in the US Army...HOOAH! Look up Pyron 4 or some of the advanced forms in Shotokan, you will see clinch knees. Look up 1 step sparring and you will see spinning elbows. MT tends to have better conditioning by the teachers on average cause of all the fucking McDojos. Karate founded kickboxing!

  • @wiggalama You have no arguement you have the wrong info your not worthy of me schooling your punks ass peace bitch

  • @mrpedrotafolla90 Your the one with no arguement. I presented evidence, all you can do is use ad homenims, typical of weak minded fools like BJJ practioners and Marines :D

  • @wiggalama muay thai trains knees and elbows from realistic stance and on heavy bag pads and sparring..it took so much energy but builds power endurance speed and fintess//karate trains few step back few step forward with monkey stance and air punches..shotokan people do not feel they need fitness aerobic anaerobic and bone condition workout because they do not sparr at all.they do fake sparing like i am going to punch you jodan you going to do this block and etc..fake..muay thai 100% real art

  • @Freestyleartclub We use the circular stance too, but briefly and after say a roundhouse or front kick(look up the roundhouse straight punches combo against Rashad Evans for example). We don't stay in it cause 90% of the time kicks or bounce in punches are better than regular punches as an initial attack, and the groin is exposed. NEVER COMPARE CONDITIONING AVERAGES, FOR THEY ARE THE WORK OF TEACHERS AND NOT THE ART. Karate needs more realistic conditioning, BUT THAT IS NOT THE ART ITSELF.

  • @Freestyleartclub why you have put gi on and train fake karate if there beatiful art such muay thai,?more realistic more powerful?because it is hard people looking something fake easy and buy belts.

  • @Freestyleartclub oh, so machida has not won almost all of his fights then? cause karate doesn't work? that's news to me.

  • @eamonob84 machida won his fights because he knows BJJ,wrestling, muay thai, thats why he won. he does not won because he knows kata or karate..you cant use karate in action..because it is just a theory

  • @Freestyleartclub have you ever even watched machida fight? he does not use muay thai in his fights and he rarely goes to the ground, meaning he doesnt really use his BJJ either. everything he does standing is very traditional shotokan karate--the long stance, the guard he uses, straight counter punches, knee extension with his kicks, the foot sweeps and takedowns, etc. it is ALL karate.

  • @wiggalama machida has said openly himself that he does train muay thai. but his base is karate

  • @kingstaffy karate is bulshit lyoto trains muay thai before his fights..you can see in this video he does not do shitty karate kata or shit stance fake punchs he does muay thai..

  • @Freestyleartclub Eastern Martial Arts = Snap their kicks, Southeast Asian Martial Arts = Throw their entire weight behind their kicks

  • @GrowingUpSortOf karate still throws bodyweight behind the kicks. there are two types of kicks in karate--keoge and kekomi, snap and thrust. there is still the extension from the knee in kekomi (which muay thai doesn't have), but weight is thrown behind it too.

  • @eamonob84 thanks for that info. i dunno about karate, but in my muay thai gym, the trainers keep telling me that I kick like a TKD fighter. Quick snap kicks, but not much power behind it compared to a MT kick

  • @eamonob84 keage or kekomi are side kicks..unuseful, in action.to do that kick you need to turn side, then easy to take you down..you cant compare muay thai perfect kicks with shotokan.

  • @Freestyleartclub keage and kekomi most often are terms used to describe side kicks, but they can be used to differentiate all types of kicks. i've trained karate for 14 years and i teach it. you can have a snap or thrust front kick as well and, depending on the target, with a roundhouse kick as well.

  • @Freestyleartclub cont'd:

do you realize that the old style (non-competition) muay thai kick is actually more similar to the old style (non-competition) karate kick? the knee is chambered to the side first and the bottom foot is not pivoted until the kick is thrown. they still dont do the knee extension and knee is chambered perpendicular to the floor rather than parallel, but it is more similar than the competition style, which is not very practical in self-defense.

  • @eamonob84 as you see read your comment everything just theory,,because you guys do not have real sparring to understand how important fitnes,,aeriboci, unaerobic, and bone condition, how to handle pain, and of course injuries,,,karate like you just said theory..heap like that kick like that punch like that.it is just words..it does not amke sense fight time..fighting it is about body condition +heart+ you realistic sparring level..

  • @Freestyleartclub you're not making any sense. karate doesn't have bone conditioning? or fitness conditioning? are you even being serious right now? you obviously don't know anything about karate training. like i said, i've been doing it for 14 years, plus training in other styles (judo, bjj and krav maga).

  • @Freestyleartclub <- idiot

  • @wiggalama man,you basically summarize what i'm tryin to say

  • @wiggalama there are many different ways to throw a knee and an elbow in muay thai...

  • @wiggalama

Yeah, kindof like a kickboxer or karate guys punches are the same as an elite level boxer right? You know, they both use their left and right hand, so there virtually the same right?

Or Muay Thai's level of clinch work and knees are FAR beyond any TKD or Karate style...

  • Machida is gonna wreck Rampage.

  • all machida needed was better leg defense, the karate was fine.

  • everyday machida is evolving his fighting.

  • muito firme esse fideo!!

    muito louco!!

    valeu.
