I've watched this a few times now and I cant see a reason for this low side. So what if he was stiff. I bet I was stiff when I rode my first 'big' bike but it never made me low side. He's not going too fast with too much lean. I can't see that he's trying to steer through the corner either so I assume it's something on the road.

@dantehallJr92 You're the first person I've seen say that and I totally agree with you. I don't think many riders are aware of how it affects how they should get through a corner. I myself am not a pro but I've read about how it brings a whole new dynamic to how you should enter, and exit corners, how and why you should apply acceleration, etc.
There are loads of vids on here of the same area with people all low siding off.. Oil on the tarmac? Every fucka's low siding at Mulholland? Are all these riders really that shit or is it oil or diesel or something else?

@MrHighByte its simple, they are posers. Pros apex corners enter wide exit wide, eliminating arch and taking the straightest line possible, they knee drag because they have to. Monkeys here actually add arch to the turn just to knee drag, there line is so wrong, they feel all pro then they crash there bikes. Learn to ride.Its all ignorance that causes this to happen, knee dragging just to do it = this. ha ha ha.
@ABon1212 i'm guessing that a lot of people either clip the road with their peg or they tap the brake. it sounds like there's a scrape just before the bike starts sliding, i think the peg scraped... the person before hand took the turn out a bit wider which allowed a better turn, as the next person went through they pulled the bike in for a deeper lean to preserve their turning line, went a bit too far and scraped... sucks.
@ABon1212 You need to learn how to ride before teaching others based on your comments above...in a left hand curve he should have been applying pressure to the left footpeg not the right. If he were racing a dirtbike then it would be correct to say weigh the right footpeg. His body was al wrong too. Learn to get off the bike guys and stick a knee out. MotoGP and superbike racers don't do it for looks. This guy was way out of a proper position and had the bike leaned too much.

I went down 2 weeks ago in a t shirt, shorts and slippers, nothing broken but you get a lot of road rash, waiting on my insurance check, some black lady pulled infront of me so i had to lay it down. Insurance company offered me 27k because i have scars on my arms now and im only 17. i got lucky, when i get my new bike ill also be getting leather. so ready to ride the snake

@cxrcraig3 a lot of ppl dont understand the proper mechanics of leaning a superbike into a turn, that why. and this is one of the most popular places in the country to ride a cycle through. probably thousands of ppl on a daily basis. thats probably why u see so many riders go down. if u ever get the chance ro ride mulholland its a must do on your bucket list.
There are so many video at the same place, It makes wonder if there putting sand on the road... This is the 4th video of the V-same place, With different bike & riders all sliding down. There's a little side road just above the coroner, For them to video, and take pictures from. Can't be chalked up, all to rider errors. ?
If you notice, the first dumb ass with NO GEAR ON! -doesn't accelerate out of that portion of the turn, he just rolls on throttle. The second dumb ass with NO GEAR ON! -Just as he is starting to accelerate on that part of the road, where it has a negative or flat camber section. He should have been leaning off the bike more in order for the bike to stand up while going through that section of the turn. Anybody who really knows how to ride will tell you that this Hwy. is nothing to fuck with!!!
he looks like he is doing a lot wrong refering to body position in the curve. it looks like he is riding through the curve the same way he would ride on a straight road. his head should be tucked forward/down and knee dragging on this is curve. his body should turn the bike not have the bike turn his body
If you watch enough videos of accidents on this corner on youtube you'll see its a little trap on that one spot. Maybe the road surface has become polished and slippery. Its the Bermuda Triangle corner for Motorcyclists in LA.

The guy in this accident didnt give it a hand full of gas, he was being smooth.. the corner is extremely slippery on that spot and thats why they film there, they know they will get people falling on that spot because its a trap for people that dont know the road.

It doesn't take long to put on a jacket for a normal ride, and not too much longer to throw on a suit if you have one for something like a day at the track. If you can't spare the extra 5 minutes just to jump into a suit or the extra 15 seconds just to put on a jacket well then you might as well just leave the helmet at home too and go put Darwin's Theory to the test.
Who cares about what people wear. Throw on a helmet and gloves. If your scared of road rash, suit up like one of those retarded Europeans. no shit...when will all riders learn that if you would like to go faster, you must reposition your center of gravity. gezz . Get off the seat already and get that head over.
The physics of a lowside crash are simple, as you lean into a turn especially one like this where the road is sloping away, the front tire is losing traction just a tiny bit faster than the rear, at the apex you can have less than half an inch of rubber width wise to the road that's ok but if you grab front brake or accelerate too quickly or early out of the turn, center of gravity loses out to centrifical force and down you go. And that's not even factoring in road condition, fluids or debris.

@StreetSurfinn Can't stand it when someone tries to flame me for not wearing leather pants and boots for a trip to the store or something. I don't usually wear full gear unless going over 30mph for any length of time. Gloves, Helmet and Jacket I wear everytime though.

@MrHighByte its simple, they are posers. Pros apex corners enter wide exit wide, eliminating arch and taking the straightest line possible, they knee drag because they have to. Monkeys here actually add arch to the turn just to knee drag, there line is so wrong, they feel all pro then they crash there bikes. Learn to ride.Its all ignorance that causes this to happen, knee dragging just to do it = this. ha ha ha.

@ABon1212 i'm guessing that a lot of people either clip the road with their peg or they tap the brake. it sounds like there's a scrape just before the bike starts sliding, i think the peg scraped... the person before hand took the turn out a bit wider which allowed a better turn, as the next person went through they pulled the bike in for a deeper lean to preserve their turning line, went a bit too far and scraped... sucks.

@ABon1212 You need to learn how to ride before teaching others based on your comments above...in a left hand curve he should have been applying pressure to the left footpeg not the right. If he were racing a dirtbike then it would be correct to say weigh the right footpeg. His body was al wrong too. Learn to get off the bike guys and stick a knee out. MotoGP and superbike racers don't do it for looks. This guy was way out of a proper position and had the bike leaned too much.

I went down 2 weeks ago in a t shirt, shorts and slippers, nothing broken but you get a lot of road rash, waiting on my insurance check, some black lady pulled infront of me so i had to lay it down. Insurance company offered me 27k because i have scars on my arms now and im only 17. i got lucky, when i get my new bike ill also be getting leather. so ready to ride the snake

@cxrcraig3 a lot of ppl dont understand the proper mechanics of leaning a superbike into a turn, that why. and this is one of the most popular places in the country to ride a cycle through. probably thousands of ppl on a daily basis. thats probably why u see so many riders go down. if u ever get the chance ro ride mulholland its a must do on your bucket list.

There are so many video at the same place, It makes wonder if there putting sand on the road... This is the 4th video of the V-same place, With different bike & riders all sliding down. There's a little side road just above the coroner, For them to video, and take pictures from. Can't be chalked up, all to rider errors. ?

If you notice, the first dumb ass with NO GEAR ON! -doesn't accelerate out of that portion of the turn, he just rolls on throttle. The second dumb ass with NO GEAR ON! -Just as he is starting to accelerate on that part of the road, where it has a negative or flat camber section. He should have been leaning off the bike more in order for the bike to stand up while going through that section of the turn. Anybody who really knows how to ride will tell you that this Hwy. is nothing to fuck with!!!

he looks like he is doing a lot wrong refering to body position in the curve. it looks like he is riding through the curve the same way he would ride on a straight road. his head should be tucked forward/down and knee dragging on this is curve. his body should turn the bike not have the bike turn his body

If you watch enough videos of accidents on this corner on youtube you'll see its a little trap on that one spot. Maybe the road surface has become polished and slippery. Its the Bermuda Triangle corner for Motorcyclists in LA.
They wouldnt film there so much if they didnt know it was such a trap.

@MrDanieldb not if it was because the road surface is slippery and you cant see it. Its like saying its a riders fault if he comes off after someone dumped diesel on a corner.
The guy in this accident didnt give it a hand full of gas, he was being smooth.. the corner is extremely slippery on that spot and thats why they film there, they know they will get people falling on that spot because its a trap for people that dont know the road.

It doesn't take long to put on a jacket for a normal ride, and not too much longer to throw on a suit if you have one for something like a day at the track. If you can't spare the extra 5 minutes just to jump into a suit or the extra 15 seconds just to put on a jacket well then you might as well just leave the helmet at home too and go put Darwin's Theory to the test.

The physics of a lowside crash are simple, as you lean into a turn especially one like this where the road is sloping away, the front tire is losing traction just a tiny bit faster than the rear, at the apex you can have less than half an inch of rubber width wise to the road that's ok but if you grab front brake or accelerate too quickly or early out of the turn, center of gravity loses out to centrifical force and down you go. And that's not even factoring in road condition, fluids or debris.

I don't wear gear that makes me immortal, I wear gear that dramatically increases my chances of coming out of a crash unscathed and with my skull intact. If you want to be an idiot and not wear protective gear then that's your problem, but don't complain to the paramedics about the pain when you crash (which all riders do eventually, no matter what).
