It was developed by Probe and there are several versions of the game. The Master system and Genesis Versions are better but overall the story is the same. On a sidenote Games don`t need to be like the movies otherwise it would be booring. But i agree with you that the timelimit of the hostages are kinda wrong but oh well i never was a fan of this Game.

I have never played this version on a NES , though I did have a very quick look with an emulator running on my Gizmondo with the small screen it looked ok-ish & somewhat familiar with the SNES version that I like & played a lot in the past...

Very nice review, although this game is not so bad, But actually you made two mistakes. The first, you can set 9 lives in option menu, The second, they aren't Alien Queens, they are Alien Guardians. You can read this on the title screen of each boss level.

In all fairness, the SNES version of Alien 3 LJN made was pretty awesome, but the NES version was essentially a cut down version of the Mega Drive/Amiga release (also made by Probe).

But they really should have just kept the same graphics and ripped off Metroid, then it would have been a great game.
