@mvp100100 i have Samsung s2 AND HTC evo 3D.i bought Samsung s2 by myself and got HTC evo 3D as a gift from my parents. I really regret buying Samsung S2.its not a bad mobile phone , its great but im more satisfied with HTC 3D.Not everyone has a 3D mobile phone.whoever sees this phone in my hand freaks out and asks for its name.the 3D camera is really cool! gets some attention ;) the 3D pictures are REALLY 3D. im tellin u , HTC evo 3D is worth it. Uhm, you do know this phone has almost 40% more screen to render compared to the other phones in the Quadrant test... also, I doubt <2.3 Android do better in it than 2.3, pretty much every test I've seen proves this. Anyway, good phone, still don't know why they halved it's price. Hope I might just get one, since Nexus S or Galaxy W seem alot less apealing at the same price range.

@roc11978 Right now on Wirefly, the HTC EVO 3D, Motorola Photon and the Samsung Epic 4G Touch all meet your cost criteria. They are the three best phones on Sprint and can compete pretty well against just about any other phone.

I did buy this phone, my first android. Your score came on 2193, mine came on 1868 (any ides why? i have all applications off), sometimes it lags on the start screen, like it locks up so i have to press the on/off button twice(hibernate) and it gets back to it.The 3d camera feels very much like the pictures u move side to side and the pictures change( donno the name of them) so it was NOT what i expected, the 3d goes kinda inside the phone not outside like in the theater. tbh not so good the 3d.

@wedgeii2 The EVO 3D can take 3D photos and the iPhone (you pick the model) can't. That is the feature about the EVO 3D's camera that my wife enjoys.
BTW, she's had about 400 photos published in various magazines -- real magazines that are printed on paper every month. I was wondering how many published photos you have...?

@wedgeii2 Actually, you can view 3D photos in a magazine if they are printed with the red/blue technique. She proposed this to a magazine but nothing came of it -- still, it might happen in the future. In the meantime, I can view 3D photos from the EVO 3D on my 2D computer monitor fed by my new Nvidia display card. It recognizes the format and converts the file to red/blue for 3D viewing... neat!

you mentioned that evo 3d have 4G on board while when i was checking it on HTC website and gsmarena.com found it 1G internal memory only and there're other users online were writing that you will only find on actual Internal storage on the phone is around 700M free. so how did you find it 4G Internal.
@haithamfikry My understanding (and I made this point in comments below) is that the EVO 3D has more on-board storage, but only 1GB is available. The rest is used by Sense and the OS. I agree that this is confusing. The bottom line is that there is only 1GB (approx.) of available storage, no matter how I slice it.
FWIW, the EVO 3D I have says it has 1.05GB of available space.
My phone never gave problems, runs even smoother since last update, and I never had a call drop even when Hurricane Katrina came along. Sprint was the only service working then and my dad's business cell AT&T phone got no service then.
Ya i just go the HTC 3D on December 13th and it sucks.the battery life is like 3 hours,while not doing anything, it sucks its own battery out. the 3D is complete crap, more like a hologram card., worst phone ever but im shit out of luck, i ran out of the 30 day return, honestly my Blackberry Tour was faster on the internet and was much simpler and better. also the apps suck and its only 4GB. any phone created in the last 2 years should have a better rating than this, sorry HTC this phone is shit

@pcangeldust Yes, definitely. The EVO 3D will show 3D photos in 3D. You can also watch 3D videos and movies in 3D, and not just ones you create with the phone.
@sticko234 You have to take the phone to a Sprint store and have the phone activated on Sprint's network. You will be required to get a plan of some sort at that point. If you own the phone outright, you can probably buy a pre-paid plan, but the people at the store will explain it to you.
@Redbridz222 If you are on WiFi and not connected to Sprint's network, then you can do anything on the phone except make phone calls and do texts. You need an active phone number and be connected to the carrier's network to make phone calls and do texts.
A few phones can make phone calls using WiFi, but these phones still must have an active voice/data plan with a carrier.
@fanigd42 Ah... the 3D video format that the EVO 3D (and many other devices) use saves the left-right information on a single image. The device's processor then re-creates the 3D image from that. What you saw was the left eye/right eye image information, each saved on half the screen.
@TheDavolfc Both are nice phones. The EVO 3D is fun and the DROID RAZR is super slim and lightweight, as well as having a faster 4G network. There is a new version of the RAZR called the RAZR Maxx that has a massive battery for long battery life. It will be out in 2 weeks.

@UltimatemaxD Both the EVO 3D and the Sensation are good phones. Both have 4GB of internal storage, but (in both cases) about 3GB of that storage is used for the user interface (Sense 3.0). Practically, both phones have 1GB of *available* storage.
Of the two, I prefer the EVO 3D for its fun factor. But both are good and compare favorably.
@vadFANeDotA Te HTC EVO 3D uses none of those technologies. The EVO 3D uses a 4G technology called WiMax, which is in the US and only a couple other countries. In the US, LTE and HSPA+ are both advertised as 4G, so we call them 4G here.
Got interested in this phone since i they had it really cheap in a Swedish online store (3000kr, witch is about 40% cheaper than the standard SGS2 price). Never heard anyone talking about this phone before witch is weird since it seems to be a top-performance phone with 3D-display (and -camera).
I'll probably buy it tonight, my only worries is that the Swedish version comes with only 1 GB of internal storage :(
@vadFANeDotA If there is a Swedish version of the EVO 3D, then it probably doesn't have WiMax. It's probably a GSM phone that uses HSPA and HSPA+ (or HSDPA). I like the EVO 3D and hope you enjoy it!
@joey62978 I think the EVO 3D is a big step up from the EVO 4G. Just about everything about the EVO 3D is improved over the EVO 4G, especially the display and processor. Things will run faster, and you'll still be able to do music. The 3D's camera is good, but probably no better than the EVO 4G. And the EVO 3D has something "kinda like" Siri. One is called "Speaktoit."
@zezmia10001 Are you asking about the EVO 3D's battery consumption? My experience (after a few weeks of carrying it around) is that it's battery consumption is average. You can prolong it by switching off 4G whenever you're not using it.
@zezmia10001 The 2D/3D switch is only for the camera, to switch the camera in/out of 3D mode. It has no effect on battery consumption.
The EVO 3D will show a 3D image whenever you display 3D content. It's been a few weeks since I used the phone, but I don't recall a way to force it to display 2D only.
@RocketManGaming I don't really know, but it's my understanding that Boost does not offer any 4G phones. So I wouldn't expect the EVO 3D anytime soon.
hey bob seems this review is close to one million views and rightfully so BC its still top dog. Don't get me wrong Samsung s2 is nice along with the rezound but the 3d still takes the cake. And if u really want beats audio there's a kernel you can flash to put it in ur sound driver. And u get beats audio with this beast. Everyone the eco line is king. @DubStepEdition Sprint phones do not use SIM cards in the US. You can take a phone all over North America and not need a SIM. And Sprint has 4G that works pretty well, if you are in an area with good coverage... again, no SIM required. So it all depends on where you live.

@sticko234 You have to take the phone to a Sprint store and have the phone activated on Sprint's network. You will be required to get a plan of some sort at that point. If you own the phone outright, you can probably buy a pre-paid plan, but the people at the store will explain it to you.

@Redbridz222 If you are on WiFi and not connected to Sprint's network, then you can do anything on the phone except make phone calls and do texts. You need an active phone number and be connected to the carrier's network to make phone calls and do texts.
A few phones can make phone calls using WiFi, but these phones still must have an active voice/data plan with a carrier.

@fanigd42 3D on the EVO 3D looks a little like you are looking into a box with a glass top. Below the glass, objects in the box appear to be 3D.
Otherwise, I don't understand your question about showing "2 sides of the same thing."

@fanigd42 Ah... the 3D video format that the EVO 3D (and many other devices) use saves the left-right information on a single image. The device's processor then re-creates the 3D image from that. What you saw was the left eye/right eye image information, each saved on half the screen.

@TheDavolfc Both are nice phones. The EVO 3D is fun and the DROID RAZR is super slim and lightweight, as well as having a faster 4G network. There is a new version of the RAZR called the RAZR Maxx that has a massive battery for long battery life. It will be out in 2 weeks.

@wirefly First of all, I really like your review watched it 2 times, I really love this phone but i can't decide between the HTC EVO 3D and the HTC Sensation.
I went to a couple of websites and it says the EVO 3D comes with an intern storage of 1GB instead of 4GB as you told... is that true? or are there other versions with more storage??
Wich one do you recommend if you had to pick an HTC phone, and wich one if you had to choose between the HTC EVO & Sensation...

@UltimatemaxD Both the EVO 3D and the Sensation are good phones. Both have 4GB of internal storage, but (in both cases) about 3GB of that storage is used for the user interface (Sense 3.0). Practically, both phones have 1GB of *available* storage.
Of the two, I prefer the EVO 3D for its fun factor. But both are good and compare favorably.

When you say 4G, do you mean LTE or HSDPA technology? Or do you use completely different standards in the US?
Because in Europe HSDPA is the "real 4G" while HSDPA is often called "Turbo 3g" or 3.5G...

@vadFANeDotA Te HTC EVO 3D uses none of those technologies. The EVO 3D uses a 4G technology called WiMax, which is in the US and only a couple other countries. In the US, LTE and HSPA+ are both advertised as 4G, so we call them 4G here.

Got interested in this phone since i they had it really cheap in a Swedish online store (3000kr, witch is about 40% cheaper than the standard SGS2 price). Never heard anyone talking about this phone before witch is weird since it seems to be a top-performance phone with 3D-display (and -camera).
I'll probably buy it tonight, my only worries is that the Swedish version comes with only 1 GB of internal storage :(

@vadFANeDotA If there is a Swedish version of the EVO 3D, then it probably doesn't have WiMax. It's probably a GSM phone that uses HSPA and HSPA+ (or HSDPA). I like the EVO 3D and hope you enjoy it!

@joey62978 I think the EVO 3D is a big step up from the EVO 4G. Just about everything about the EVO 3D is improved over the EVO 4G, especially the display and processor. Things will run faster, and you'll still be able to do music. The 3D's camera is good, but probably no better than the EVO 4G. And the EVO 3D has something "kinda like" Siri. One is called "Speaktoit."

@zezmia10001 Are you asking about the EVO 3D's battery consumption? My experience (after a few weeks of carrying it around) is that it's battery consumption is average. You can prolong it by switching off 4G whenever you're not using it.

@zezmia10001 The 2D/3D switch is only for the camera, to switch the camera in/out of 3D mode. It has no effect on battery consumption.
The EVO 3D will show a 3D image whenever you display 3D content. It's been a few weeks since I used the phone, but I don't recall a way to force it to display 2D only.

hey bob seems this review is close to one million views and rightfully so BC its still top dog. Don't get me wrong Samsung s2 is nice along with the rezound but the 3d still takes the cake. And if u really want beats audio there's a kernel you can flash to put it in ur sound driver. And u get beats audio with this beast. Everyone the eco line is king. @DubStepEdition Sprint phones do not use SIM cards in the US. You can take a phone all over North America and not need a SIM. And Sprint has 4G that works pretty well, if you are in an area with good coverage... again, no SIM required. So it all depends on where you live.
