I just saw Hubble 3D yesterday- it was amazing. I just wish the movie featured more 3D Hubble imagery and less footage from Hubble missions. I mean, the mission footage was really cool to see, but flying down into a 3D nebula and seeing a star nursery- totally breathtaking.

I just rented this on Blu Ray. It was kind of a rip off though as there was only about 10 minutes of images while the other 35 minutes was about the astronauts. Don't get me wrong, the images were awesome, but over all I wouldn't recommend renting this.
As a trained scientist myself, I've gotta say that this whole project is simply pathetic - editing and customization (artificial cropping, omission, insertion, colorization) so far from true reality that its beyond the pale. Its effectively the Hollywood-ization of space for public consumption. It essentially denigrates STSI, NASA, JPL and everyone else involved with space exploration and Hubble. Sad.

Guys, the colors in the images are legitimate. What they do is take sheets of different colors spectrums and layer it over the black and white. The colors are always there in the black and white images, they're just represented as shades. Take a B&W image of the hubble, and take the exact same one but with color already added to it. Convert the RGB image to a B&W image, and it's exactly the same. Put the colors back on, and the result is what you started with!

Is this the first time you see this channel. They have explained how the get the colors 100 times before. They get the color from the tipe of gases in the space with infrared technology and many other ways.
Those color does not come only by photoshop. Have a nice day.
@dollerklause The colors aren't "made up". The human eye can only see a narrow band within the electromagnetic spectrum (visible light). Many astronomical objects have MUCH more than just visible light. To overcome this, scientists map the other parts of the spectrum into corresponding reds/greens/blues so that we can see everything that's there (radio/micro/infrared/ultraviolet/x-ray/gamma waves).
You can actually see well beyond what the human eye can see with the colorized images.
I don't like how they're going to digitally edit out things that "are not supposed to be there" because they're going to edit out all of the UFO's!! lol
@D4Dag You may not want to draw this kind of conclusion till you see it. A visualization of the Orion Nebula, for example, was constructed from a real 3D map of the region rather than just a normal Hubble image. There are some very top of the line 3D cosmic simulations by our friends at the Advanced Viz Lab, U. of Illinois, that will impress as well.
I saw the Hubble trailer in 3D . They showed it in imax right before Alice in Wonderland Started and it was amazing felt like someone invaded your personal space. The trailer felt more 3D then Alice did. Hope to see it when it comes out.

looks nice and everything but this video just ruined it for me. They photo shopped everything! i understand there is no way to see around the objects but somethings are just not meant to be in 3D. Dont get me wrong the movie will look awesome!

Very true, a lot will get very bored seeing this movie, expecting some sort of super action space movie.
For me, and everyone else here, it's going to be something special. To see Hubble images on the big screen is going to be unique.
