Substance abuse is the number one cause of long term homelessness. I feel that scaling back the drug war would be a good way of addressing this problem as well as greater investments in methadone clinics, needle exchange programs, doctor and paying farmers in Afghanistan to grow something other than opium.

Having been homeless in many of the cities in this video and now working with those experiencing homelessness here in Nashville, let me be one of the many who say THANK YOU for putting this unbelievably huge problem into the fronts of the minds of many. Please spend some additional time right here at home; things are bad and getting worse for Nashville's homeless by the minute....

ISn'T THIS The TRUTH!!!!

I am a Street Minister and I have been helping the poor & homeless for over 7 years and its been a struggle because I can't get anyone involved to help. I feed and clothe the homeless. I try to connect them with people to help them find housing and through the week I buy things to help them as well as things for children too. If we all get involved we can make a differencce!

Yeah, I am aware of American's unwillingness to help the homeless. I have tried since 1992 to convince artists and film actors to do something major to help our own poor in a Concert For America, but nobody seems to get it. Everybody wants to help Tusnami victims, hurricaine victims and 9/11 victims, but nobody seems to understand that if music and other celebrities would come together to help our homeless population in a big way, it would inspire people all over America to do likewise.
