  • folk music along with dream pop and indie, alternative must never be brought to light, for when it is it is spoilt...let the masses listen to their pop and metal, rap trash...let the holy genres of music remain for the selected few..

  • Astonishingly beautiful and sad. How could someone write something this incredible?

  • Sweet...

  • Brilliant. i too hope for a folk/beat club revival. I just saw the Swedish First Aid kit perform in the round, unamplified in a packed small club! ace . Come to England Meg !

  • It's so sad..but so beautiful.

I've just started getting into folk..and she was a great place to start.

  • Hey do you know what the lyrics are for the last 2 lines of the last verse?

"I'll eat nothing but green willow?

and I'll drink nothing but my tears. "

    Thank you Ursamare.

    Thanks Meg Baird.

  • Aw, geez, I really haven't done anything. :)

I think you're bang on with the lyrics. It's a traditional so I've heard variations but Meg Baird sings it like you've put it.

I love watching the Folk Revival grow. Just can't wait for the Folk clubs to start sprouting up again.

  • Aw, so glad you enjoyed it. There's so much truth to what you say, a lost love who quietly slips out of your life. And yet, such a female experience of love and abandonment. I love Meg Baird.

  • Lovely sad song, so eloquently sung. I could listen to this song over and over again......story holds true to my heart for a long lost love that left and never said good-bye. Very nice guitar, very nice vocals!. Thank you for posting this.
