@ManTheNorwegian frontside! with the backside, you'll be able to set of with your toes instead of your heels. besides, you'll be able to spot the landing as well :)
@1:14 when it says spot the landing zone by looking down toward the toe edge, that's incorrect. He should be spotting blind. You can see he actually threw a back 3, not a front 3. Front 3 you must spot the landing blind by looking back at the knuckle or somewhere in that direction too prevent a revert or over-rotation.
@sierrasnowboard i'm thinking of getting the sierra stunt as my first board, i'm kinda of doing freestyle/carving. do you think i that the stunt would be good for both? ow, and is it 2 sided? so no front?
hey guys ive gone for a fs 360 half a dozen times but i all ways end up landing with my board facing the right way down the slope yet im landing on my back. Am i leaning too far back? Any tips would be much appreciated, thanks
Even though this is a good tutorial, it's not great, it misses some very important things, i find SnowboardAddictions video WAY better, it's from that video i learned to do 360's, it teaches you how to line up a platform, and how to hold the spin and stick the landing alot better, and each jump in that video is ideal, several of the 360's here is a bit sloppy, i'm just sayin'
I'm having some trouble every time i try to 360 i can only get the 180. Any tips? I also sometimes face plant while trying 360's like when im going on my heels to lead into the fs 360, its like I'm leaning to far forward or backward and cant land smoothly... I need some help.
You'll get it with practice, used to happen to me as well when I was spinning by carving not using my shoulders much. Try to pop even on the edge of the jump, no ollie.
Try doing a indy grab, I find it easier to spin then.
Every time I spin, I worry about the edge on my board cutting down into the kick stopping my rotation and hurling me headfirst against the landing. This happened to me twice, once on a small jump breaking a rib and once on a big air giving me a concussion. Any tip?
@Kilkeen - Sounds like you need some more practice just jumping off an edge while doing a straight air. This can help you get your timing down. You want to be jumping off the edge or spinning off the edge as the board is coming off the takeoff, so that the tail pops off the lip. Spinning too soon can cause the board to catch.
@YourMomIsATurtle - If you spot at the landing you can stall your rotation. There is not one way to style out this trick so practice both methods and see what works for you.
im doing these steps and steps from tutorials that say similar things to this almost perfectly but for some reason i can only get a 270, is there anything i can do better to get the last 90?
@MajorOPayne - If you are getting to 270 on a frontside 3 you are most likely not spotting your landing. Make sure to look down the landing zone off the toe side edge to complete the rotation. You can also scissor the board around the last 90 using the legs if your upper body is leading the way into the spin.
@ 1:13 i think that's exactly wot my problem is right now; i've been falling lately when trying 360s and i'm not quite sure wot it was that i did wrong, i can only say where the pain is in my body when i hit the ground, lol. but that appears to be exactly how i'm hitting the ground. i'll keep that in mind
Hey. So I can get the 360 down but when I land, I just keep rotating to switch. I can't figure out how to ride away straight. Any tips? Thanks and great video!
@roseburg35 - When you are half way around you can counter rotate your arms to stop the rotation to avoid over rotating. This is happening because your are rotating too hard off the takeoff rather than just using pop with a small amount of rotation.
@TheBoardersnow - Too wide of a stance can make you spin slower, but a proper wide stance will allow for more range of motion so that you can create better pop off the takeoff.
@kego777 - You sound like you are not keeping your rotation flat off the takeoff. Make sure you are getting good pop off the lip, while not loading to the tail too early. This can pitch you back and put your spin off kilter.
hey i was wondering I always under rotate and end up doing about 315 and having the board sliding out from under me, i get enough air but i just can't rotate ennough! please help!
@arach613 - It is all about generating pop off the takeoff and timing the spin with that pop. This will make your spins come around much quicker. Also make sure to spot just off the toe edge down the landing to stomp and ride away.
@Hatsie98 - Don't think about leaning on the heals but rather just edging slightly. This will help keep your body upright and balanced through the spin.
@cheezer20004 - Think about spotting off the toe edge and down the landing zone for your FS 360s. If you look straight down the landing zone you are likely to over rotate your spin.
@sierrasnowboard i attempted a 360 for the first time today and i got the rotation down but i keep landing on the tail of my board and falling back on my butt. and in some cases, i end up almost parallel to the ground which resulted in some pretty hard slams. is there a good way to correct this?
@MaGiiKMiiKeY - Your stance is off balance at takeoff. Make sure during your approach your body position it square to the board with just a small amount of prewind.
@Hatsie98 - It is good to learn both so that you can score different tricks that require the heel takeoff. You setup is similar, just rock to the toe edge just before you are going to takeoff so that you can extend off the toes.
@theoldkat - Work on being more balanced on your takeoff and learn to time your spin better off the takeoff. You need to pop into the spin to stay balanced.
I skate and frontside 360s are way easier, but many people say backside are easier in snowboarding. Which should I try to learn first (which is easier)?
@SeshMastaFlex - The core is locked by flexing the abdominal muscles while the upper body crosses the plane where it is back inline with the lower body. This connects the upper and lower body and helps to generate the spin.
@lilp3t3rr - It all depends on the person, but the backside can be easier to land because you have sight of the landing for the last part of the rotation.
@lilp3t3rr yea, it apparently turns out that way. when skating, frontside was definitely easier for me to learn than backside. but same was not true on snow...
whats most difficult: backside or frontside?

with frontside: the take off is a little easier (heel side), but the your view of landing isn't as visible until the very end of your roatation...
with backside: the initial take off is harder (toe side), but the landing comes into view alot sooner which makes it easier to stick

Blendiv 1 year ago
@Blendiv - If the Frontside 360 is easier for you on a skateboard, then try the Frontside 360 first.
You can break it down by adding a switch backside 180 to your frontside 180.
You takeoff like you are in a frontside 180 and land like you land your switch backside 180.
Hope this helps.
