  • Hey SOPHIETAR you probably know already that JOHN is a big Fan of Stevie Wonder. He is Aussie,he is all ours!Sadly he didn't take his talent overseas,But i think that was for a reason. One he may have been ignored back then or two he wanted to try & boost our music industry over here & has done so much here over the years that go's unrecognised perhaps. He is the Legend over here in Oz of our music industry,he has helped to put us on the map..Speaking of Help! have you seen him do Help from beatles

  • World class!! Onya Farnsey!!

  • Es mejor con Chicago

  • I'm beginning to like all his music, he is good, I did recognize his music 70's and 80's

thank you for his music, god bless you.

  • i take the hat to this man!hes unique!

  • Air Supply is my favorite band of all times... So it's no surprise that J. Farnham has the same origins. But I do prefer "please don 't ask me", which really sets out his voice and is completely original. Great for a good cry, too... Keep em coming, guys, we need more Aussie musicians... The French Sophie

  • @SOPHIETAR Oh! me too! I love Air Supply.Maybe your an Aussie & you just don't know in yet! Ha ha! Please don't ask me is such a beautiful song..It has made me cry many times.I first saw him perform it live at Sydney Entertainment Centre back in 88 or something? I nearly died! Just Amazing!!!

  • An English Australian pop singer gathered a lot of honors and awards for his achievement. I love his songs.......This song is one of his best.....A very memorable song for me...1976.

  • i was imagining you thought this of me--he he!! jk!!! smile, W!!!

  • in the soundtrack of shaun of the dead. awesome.

    lol

  • On top of my list of favorites. Thanks very much for sharing. A 1976song.

  • Im seeing John in concert this Thursday night 2nd row cant wait, seein him before in concert hes not just a singer hes a an all round entertainer, doesnt get much better than that.

  • Is this a white Stevie Wonder? I can identify similar vocalisations... Only just discovered him last week and I feel I've been robbed of so much intensity and beautiful interpretations... Aussie is he?

  • @SOPHIETAR He is Aussie.

And he's our best kept secret.

  • @SOPHIETAR

I can't find anything on You Tube, but John Farnham sang "Masquerade" on a TV show once...had me weeping...and that was in his "hard rocker" voice days. From that one song I knew he should stick to ballads (mostly anyway). He was born in England, but made his name as a singer in Australia. Beautiful voice quality. Tonal range and voice control.

  • @Kayenne54 Don't know bout that song..But if you think John dosn't sing harder stuff try Long Way to the top by ACDC or WE will rock you by QUEEN.

  • @SOPHIETAR yes he is true blue, which means australian. very much so. he was awarded australian of the year in 88. the best male vocalist in the world eva. aussies rock!

  • @SOPHIETAR Aussie yes. He is called "the voice"

  • @SOPHIETAR Yes he definitely is some sort of white Stevie Wonder. He's a huge fan of him as a matter of fact, but unlike so many Stevie clones,he tastefully grabbed some of Stevie's vocal gimmicks and blended it with his own style.

He's the biggest Australian star of all time.

  • John does an excellent job of this, and I've been a fan since he began, but I prefer the original version by 'Chicago'. It's sung in a softer way.

I've heard him sing 'Woman' too, which was originally done by' Gary Pucket And The Union Gap' I think it's in the vaults on his gold coloured DVD called, John Farnham: The Voice - best video clips.

  • I like this version so much better than Chicago's - always so much emotion in John's voice.

  • I agree. I think I'm missing the 'Who..o..o.o w baby' that Chigago sing, whereas John sings, 'No,no,no baby' which he maybe felt was better for him.

I've decided I like both versions now - they both have their qualities. This is the first time I''ve heard John sing it, never saw him do it back in the 60s.

  • What a cute John.

    He is the voice!!!!

  • i cant stop watching and listening to this...fantastic

  • i cant believe he done this song...he is soooo good. this is better than peter ceteria. its so awsome. i love it when the back up singers come in. its angelic...bloody awsome.

  • the orginal is better

  • HEHE wasnt he cute?... I like the boy! LOL

  • What can i say,the mans a freak of nature, there will never be another John Farnham.Hey guys ive been trying to find a song that he sang in the Black & white days. Its called "Woman"'have you got cheatin on your mind' was covered originally by someone else, was on a dvd i hired once called One Voice.

  • Totally agree, shows John's effortless and powerful voice. Love this song, he does it justice. Just wish there was a better quality recording somewhere!

  • He can sing anything!!

  • He is really hot. I love this song, and to have him sing it is fantastic.

  • Yes indeed, its great to have this back

  • Wow very cool. these are pretty rare, thank you
