It's not whether or not the cop had the right to do what he did. If you ever studied a law book pertaining to firearms, officers of the law have all rights to use deadly force even when their actions are UNLAWFUL, IF, the officers in question, at the time thought they were acting lawfully. This is why almost all police shooting cases get dropped out.

The question here is did the officers handle the situation improperly. My answer is yes for this reason.

@ArchieLovesMe It is highly unlikely that a qualified officer should feel threatened or unable to avoid a vehicle accelerating from the PARKED position. Both sides acknowledge that the vehicle was in a stopped, parked position. Under the book of law, the vehicle once moving, is a deadly weapon, however the officers judgment in using deadly force at the time, instead of alternative methods of stopping a motor vehicle is what is upsetting.

I believe that the officer was in the wrong.

This is a dangerous situation. In other life and disciplnary situations, you get written up, fired, sent to the principal's office, or sent to your room. When cops are around- when people like you who have decided to take a job with a police force are around- you get executed and your life is taken away. Nobody should have this sort of power.
