Great lesson Marty. I've been wanting to get a little more feeling/emotion to come thru in my solos and the sour bends are just what I needed. Thanks! Also, how about doing a lesson on Sure got cold after the rain fell by ZZ Top. :)
will you do something on transitioning between the "five positions" of any minor pentatonic? i try to isolate the notes on certain albums and i rage quit every time so i have to take the chance asking you now that i see the opportunity--
Great lesson! Very concise, Marty; very practical. You just explained in six minutes, something that I haven't known in years. I know all the scales, notes, modes, fretboard, have the runs in memorized in my head and can see it all with my eyes closed, but something has been amiss.
I'm self-taught and although I've known these blues patterns for years, I just couldn't seem to get it. This lesson just explained why. Thanks, man. I now have a basic understanding of bending and tonal centers.
@RockGuitarDave I dont know if this will help but I had the same problem awhile ago. I would either try adjusting your fingers till you get it to stop or just keep practicing. I dont really know how I got out of it though I just got out of it.
Marty, could you please tell us in what order we should learn the different things you teach us? (unless you have already done that, cos there are so many videos)
@BrunoAndradeRnB dont bother, youll never get laid doing that, 6 string man, all the way, seriously its not even a real instrument, when do you here people say "yeah get your bass out and give us a song , ya hunky ball of raw sex"?? it dont occur on any way near a regular basis, me? iam getting in all over town, few chords, 1st postion pentatonic?? iam there dude, all coz i made the right choice at theright time
@youcanlearnguitar - do all the extensions of the A blues scale contain the same notes just in different locations on the fretboard or are we adding different notes ??
if you have made a video on that subject already i guess i missed it.
@hootchieman5 yes thats right . u kinda pick up on it after messing around with the scale extensoins for a little bit. if u really practice u can figure out the scale all up and down the neck on all strings.
