Ha! Perhaps they all should've asked Kate, for advice on how to conduct themselves. She seems to be a fine example of moral integrity. And she doesn't have the advantage of age/maturity or an advanced education. Guess it only matters to the Bramwells what other people will think if they find out.
i love this series until the last season, season 4. i do not understand why the writers turn Eleanor from a woman of wisdom and compassion into something disgusting. i hated that she cheated on Dr. Marsham; i thought that action was a betrayal of her true character.
I gotta agree with you. Season 4 brought in a totally different person from the original one in the previous 3 seasons. Should've just ended the series after Season 3, and there was no continuity with many of the other characters, too. Very jarring and unpleasant season that left me deeply disappointed in everyone and everything to do with the series. There is a 5th and 6th season, too, which I don't think have aired in the US, but imdb.com lists them on their webpage.
Yes, but shes an unconventional, independent minded woman, I can understand her being drawN into a sexual relationship with the equally unconventional and exciting Dr Oneal. He's like a breath of breath air....And shes nol the run of the mill Victorian woman...(or should I say Edwardian?)

For all his harshness, I do feel sorry for Robert.
And Finn. And Eleanor. It's just a bad situation.

06:36...Marsham's laugh! BAHAHA!
(I think that's the only time I've heard him do it yet)

Thanks for posting! Yes, this was V shocking (in that time) even if the couple were in love. Finn is a GREAT character though... ;-)

Poor Eleanor has committed the worst sin a young woman could do back then: have a sexual relationship outside of marriage.
