  • NO NO NO the sig is a cheap rig and the GLOCK WILL ALWAYS ROCK!!!!

  • The P 226 Navy has a special coating internally to prevent corrosion from sea water.. P 226 is better for range shooting, as a primary sidearm, and for home defence then the Glock 19 just my opinion. 19 Wins in Concealment CCW carry

  • This in the 226 Navy is my next Gun.. A bit pricy but I think it will be the best!

  • Like Butter... great gun and video. Thanks

  • You are definitively one of the better gun gurus

  • ahh love it just got me the gadsen edition p226 simply love the gun,or the dont tread on me version 979 not including tax but i think its worth it i got rid of my wasr 10 and a kimber sts pro carry and paid 25 bucks i think i got a good deal no vids on u tube so think ill make one nice sig

  • I heard this is the Navy Standard issue sidearm. It's seems like a great pistol.

  • Says made in West Germany, do sigs retain their value well?

  • to bad cops down here in NC don't use sigs we use glocks

  • nice!! my serial number is a couple hundred above yours!!!

  • I've shot one of those today, the smoothest pistol I've ever tried.

  • Nice lil Video, I can't Tell u how many Times I've Seen it. lol Definitely More than just 2 or 3 Times. I'm In Love with the Sig Sauer P226. Its Definitely One of the Best Hand Guns of All Time. It was the 9mm Side Arm of Choice of the U.S. Navy SEALs Back when the Rest of the U.S. Military was Usin the Beretta M9. I just got my Hadgun License Recently and the First Gun I Bought was the Glock 19. Another Very Good Gun in my Opinion. But yeah, I can't wait to Get my Hands on the Sig 226.

  • @Mr9mm4u i like them all!!!

  • @zboyco lol INDEED! :) Wait....... "All" meaning which ones? The Glock 19, the Beretta M9, and the Sig 226?? If so, then Yes. I Definitely Agree. Hey, I Think we'd Get Along Pretty Well. lol If ur Ever in the NYC area, let me Know. We'll Go to the Shooting Range and Fire a Few Rounds Together. lol

  • @Mr9mm4u yea i own all those 3 you mentioned. like em a lot

  • @zboyco I Envy u. lol Nah, but Seriously...... thats Awesome. Good for u man. I Plan to have them All soon also. :) But Since u Already have them and u Actually Post Up You Tube Videos and I've Never Even Tried that yet...... could u do me a Favor and Consider doing a Video Comparing the 3?? Like a lil Table Top Review/Comparison of the 3 Guns, I Think that would be Real Cool and I'd Really Like to See that. The Glock 19, the Beretta M9, and the Sig 226 I'm Talkin about.

  • Wow, stop the jump cuts.

  • Good review. I found a used P226 that was made in W Germany. This gun is incredible!! Glocks are great but Sig is a far far superior handgun. Sigs are more expensive than Glocks. But the expression is true.. You get what you pay for.

  • @BrooklynboyinSC I Think thats a Matter of Opinion. Sigs are Far More Superior than the Glock in what Way?? What do u Base that Statement on? I've Shot Both, the Glock 19 and the Sig 226. And Yes, I Like Both Guns. I Think they're 2 of the Best Hand Guns of All Time. But u have to Specify what ur Statement is Based on. A Glock 19 is Far Lighter than the Sig 226. Which is a Plus in My Opinion. Its Also just as Accurate, Reliable, and Rugged. But in my Opinion Easier to Manipulate than the Sig.

  • That one is about 200 off of my serial number!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im stickin with my glock

  • @1988dyork HOLLA! lol ;) I Agree. Well...... I Like Both Guns an Awful lot. Meaning the Glock 19 and the Sig Sauer P226. I Currently Own a Glock 19. Legally of course. lol But yeah, its a Great Fuckin Gun. I Definitely wanna Add a Sig 226 to my Collection as well though. Both of them are 2 of the Very Best Hand Guns of All Time. U can't Go Wrong with Either One. But if I had to Choose just One, yeah...... I Think I'd Stick with my Glock. lol ;)

  • Thanks for the straight forward & simple review. I've shot several 9mm pistols at the range & this gun has by far THE best handling & accurate shot placement. I was originally going to purchase a Glock but spent twice as much for the Sig P226. Absolutely worth it. In my opinion, if you are a first time gun buyer, this pistol is highly recommended.

  • @substancep Although I Agree with u that the Sig 226 is a Great Gun. Great Looking, Great to Shoot, Great Accuracy and all that...... I have to Say that for a First Gun Buyer I would Suggest a Glock. Specifically the Glock 19. Just as Accurate and Reliable and Rugged as the Sig...... but Far Lighter, which is a Big Plus in my Opinion..... and Far Easier to Manipulate. The Sig is a lil More Complicated Gun with its External Hammer and Decocker and All. I Still Love the Sig though. Not Bashing it.

  • @Mr9mm4u - Well put sir. It's probably going to come down to personal preference, so folks shoot as many handguns at the range before your first purchase. The Glock 19 overall is more of an economic buy and probably less likely to fail outdoors. As a novice shooter and from my personal experience, I do have to say that the Sig 226 is definitely not a complicated gun - easy to field strip and easy to clean. As it may be a heavier gun, it was was easier to control during shot placement.

  • @substancep I Happen to Shoot Extremely Accurate with Both. ;-) lol But I Think I Still Give the Glock 19 a Slight Edge because of its Simplicity and Again because it is Far Lighter than the Sig 226. Its Far Lighter than MOST Combat Pistols for that Matter! lol But yeah, Again..... I'm not Bashing the Sig 226 at all. As I've Already Said, I Love it. I Love BOTH Guns! :-) But I Think it Really Comes Down Exactly to what u said, PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

  • how do you know if they are west german models

  • my dad has one and it's awesome! but he don't know how to take it apart but now I do! thanks!

  • wow. i'm impressed at how easy it is to field strip. I've only owned a kimber 1911.

  • I like this Gun.

  • sigs awesome i like glock alittle more :)

  • That braided recoil spring is BA. I have to get me one of these guns. Thanks for the vid!

  • I saw this gun in Switzerland and it was 1200 but i know that in normal countries it's cheaper. Because here everything is expensive. Good review - straight to the point no nonsense. This is my favorite gun. I had glock, usp, browning. and this i like most.

  • This might be my first 9mm pistol, but with three 10 round magazines (laws on Hawai'i sadly).

  • Hi. I also noticed on yours that under the slide (right before the dust cover) you have roll marks that signify it was all made in Germany. I have TWO model 226 9mm Sigs. I was hoping the Sig Mosquito would be of the same quality - SO I could purchase it as a .22LR shooter. I still am trying to make that decision. Someone told me a Ruger or Browning Buckmark would be better - I am still trying to make up my mind. Any Thoughts?? Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • @buzzclark i got a SIG P226 9mm with a 22LR conversion. Have you thought about getting just the conversion kit for one of your P226s. Mine fires great with no malfunctions and is a good tool for training since 22 is so much cheaper. And all of the controls and feel is the same since its your 9mil frame witch is great if your going to use this system as a combat type pistol.

  • @SNAFU1775 Hello & thank you for the good common sense advice. ALL your points are correct & hold true. It's just that the full size 226's I have are just a little bit too big for my hand, Both are the original-totally MADE IN GERMANY - (for which I hope to see a value increase in time), I have arthritis in both hands & the mags that come with the conversion do not have the bottons on the sides which are quite useful & I shoot lots of ammo making mag loading painful. THX. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • @buzzclark have heard many reports of malfunctions with the mosquito's. probably just the sig conversion .22 would be bettter choice

  • that's a beautiful gun , not as nice as the covert warrior by kimber, but I've been told by a lot of people to go with the Sig p226 since I prefer accurate shot placement over just hitting center mass with a big bullet, need to get me one of these = D

  • mine is german made too . Dump by a friend who doesnt know how care for a fine shooting pistol . Lucky me :-)

  • sigs still kick ass quality is still there

  • After reading a few of your comments on the quality decline within Sig, i have to ask if you'd still recommend a Sig. So, would you?

  • @SgtScratchandSniff i only trust the original west german models that gave sig the quality name. todays Sig USA models and the new management/quality control/cust. service has gone down hill. if you find a west german model like this one, grab it.

  • @zboyco Good to know. A Glock 23 it is, then.

  • @SgtScratchandSniff

they both good the new and old ones..its sig man lol i put 5,000 rounds thru my "newer" sig and not a single jam if you dont mind buying used guns then i'd go for the older one but you wont find an older w german brand new sig out there..VERY SLIGHT CHANCE and the older finish rusts too easily ive seen..just needs alittle more maintence in that..go for either one you wont be disappointed.

  • i once was takeing my sig apart and pulld the slid bak then i hit the slid reles that spring almost went throghmy wall it so out

  • I bought my 226 in 92. It said,,W. Germany.

    I have small hands but??

    R

  • is it just me, or is that thing extremely lubricated?

  • i like sig & hk better than any of the glocks.

  • @gainguide the old sig was the best sig. ever since mr. cohen from kimber took over sig USA their quality has suffered along with customer service. glad i got my 2 sigs in the older days when they were truly west german and not US german sigs

  • @zboyco

Hey Z how are the older sigs better then the new ones? the newer ones dont rust as easy as the old ones in my opinion..of course you cant go wrong wit "Made in W Germany" stamp but my P220 is hella accurate and reliable

  • thats just like mine from W. Germany:) bad ass pistol

  • this Pistol is awesome !!! the guy is right its like butter LOL

  • 1 very noob question. When u pulled the slide back to take the top part off why didnt it jump back like it would when u wanted to put a bullet in the chamber?

  • @MrBladeDude because it was locked back with the slide lock

  • @MrBladeDude when he pointed out the "take down lever" at 1:11, to the far right of the screen (on the gun) there is a lever that looks similar to the "take down lever". (it is near the slide) If u push that up it acts somewhat like a door stop so the slide doesnt go forward. :) hope this helps

  • @MrBladeDude when he pointed out the "take down lever" at 1:11, to the far right of the screen (on the gun) there is a lever that looks similar to the "take down lever". (it is near the slide) If u push that up it acts somewhat like a door stop so the slide doesnt go forward. :) hope this helps. (skip to 1:13 n watch the lever looking things. one of them, nearest to the slide, will jump down (if that makes sense, jump down...) thats what is holding the slide up.)

  • @MrBladeDude if you skip to 1:13 and wach the lever thingy nearest the slide, it will fall down when he pulls the slide back. That is acting like a sort of door stop holding the slide back... hope this helps :)

  • Hi. I have one - made is West Germany - just like yours. I also have a P228 (west germany as well) - it has NEVER been fired except the test round at the factory. So, I lubed/oiled it & put it away years ago thinking it would be safe. Well, hearing they have carbon steel slides, susceptible to rust-I took it apart to sadly discovered RUST- under the slide. So, other than sending it to Sig for re-blueing-what can you recommend? THX. Sincerely,d JAMES.

  • @buzzclark Hi zboyco - So IF I was to have the blueing done on the rusted slide - SHOULD I HAVE THE ORIGINAL BLUEING -- OR -- HAVE THEM PUT THE NITRON FINISH ON THE SLIDE?? Which finish would hold up better?? THX AGAIN. Sincerely,d JAMES.

  • @buzzclark whatever was original i would have done. try storing the gun with Ballistol or Militec for preserving next time. never had a problem with rust using that stuff

  • Cool!

  • i bought this gun to take into the Marines with me but it's only good really for house defence and target shooting

  • Used by the Royal Netherlands Army! :)

  • @kilplayer Heh, the Netherlands.

  • they may cost 800-1100 new but you know what they are damn well worth it. they will last your forever!!

  • what case is that

  • Very good, durable and rugged handgun.

  • is $450 a good price for a used one it says stainless on the side of the slide and has night sights with 1 mag and box but no manual i almost bought it today at a pawn shop oh it also has the hogue grips didnt see the factory grips in the box eaither

  • @jtmoney606 thats the lowest ive ever heard for a 226. cost me 550 for mine used without the hogue grips which i put on later at my expense. as long as its in sound working condition id pick that up right away. thats like getting a Sig for glock or XD used prices

  • @zboyco thanks yeah he might let me go out back and shoot it where its already used i seen where it cost bout $800 new i think ill go back and get it tommorow it will be my first sig i have owned about everything else except H&K is not having the manual a big deal?

  • @jtmoney606 you can prolly download a manual for it online

  • @jtmoney606

That actually sounds like a REALLY great deal. I bet it's gone now.

  • @AndyHanturd i didnt end up getting it i bet its gone too at that price but i did go with a new h&k usp compact in 9mm and it was about little over $750 but i love it

  • It looks just like the beretta 92fs magazine

  • what model is the compact sig 9mm

  • @arkangel8419 that would be the sig p229

  • nice gun... wish i have one

  • Le P226 : une arme de légende !

    Bientôt dans mon coffre-fort !

  • Very nice older Sig, I noticed the Herndon, VA mark.

  • Very nice reviews. I really enjoy ur videos. greetings from germany

  • thanks for watching

  • When you empty the mag, and the slide is locked back, once you put another mag in and rack it, is the hammer locked back? In other words, is the firearm in single action once you rack it? Thanks

  • yes the hammer is still in the cocked position

  • Yeah I thought so, thanks for the reply. I am going to be purchasing a Sig 226 in this month, nice review.

  • I really like all your gun videos there quick, informative and give good views of the gun. Just perfect. I hope ya make more!

  • thanks for watching

  • Nice gun sig makes quality guns but my 1911 Springfield loaded model very acurate to shoot it cost me for the gun 900.00 it has never jamed I've fired 5000 rounds through it.

  • why do i see everyone that has one with a 15 round mag when mine has a 10 round mag for 9 mm

  • do you stay in a state that restricts you to 10 rounders?

  • i live in south louisiana and i think were one of the most redneck states so id have to say no

  • does it even have a safety? or do you care? : - )

  • no external safety. i dont mind it as it has a decocker to safely drop the hammer on a chambered cartridge

  • i have sig p226 sct with 20rd

  • why is your gun just dripping with oil...lol maybe a little overkill.

  • its not oil its man juice.i fuck my guns

  • thats hot man. you like to stick them in your ass?

  • if im in the mood

  • @xld3000 because he lives in florida where its hot and humid and you would be sweating all over the gun not to mention saltwater

  • @xld3000 haha, I agree, but it will definetly keep the gun from oxidating! lol

  • Just a word of advice, you don't need that much oil.

  • its not oil its man juice

  • so the assembly is pretty much like the beretta pt92 but the slide release is in front of the decocker.

  • how much did you buy yours and can you get them cheap any where ?

  • i bought mine used from a germany poilce department

  • What other comparable pistols do you own? I'm looking for a Sig 226 possibly. I own a couple of glocks right now.

  • got a hk usp, glock, XD,walther PPS. like the sig better all around i must say

  • is the p226 9mm pistol all metal?

  • yes it is

  • ok wen u change camera shots, every time u do that theres this really hi pitch buzz in the back round and every time u change camera postions it goes to a different pitch lol

  • YES, VERY GAY EDITING.

  • I'm proud of Switzerland and it's guns. I own a SIG 550 army version (Full auto). It's amazingly accurate and durable. As I was in the army we crawled through the deepest mud with these things, after that we threw them in a river to clean a bit. It even fell off an army truck right on the diopter one time... I'm not very good but I still shoot 76 of 85 Points at 300 meters, no change of accuracy at all!

  • Hey Zboy. What's up Brotha. I also own this same gun, chambered in 9mm. I too love it! I am a little miffed though that now SIG is offering the P226 with a standard rail system for accessories which mine didn't come with (yours neither). What do you think about the 9mm versus. .40 caliber? Many people say the .40 caliber is a better man stopper...

  • i wouldnt use the rail even if i had it since i dont carry this gun so would not need a rail for a laser etc. 40 cal is a better man stopper but i target shoot a lot and 9mm is easier on the wallet for that. 124 grain 9mm +P JHP can be quite a man stopper though. do not feel underpowered at all with those

  • Hey. Quick question with maybe not so quick an answer...: Taking +P out of the equation. Wouldn't using 147 grain JHP be prefferable to 124 grain. Bigger grain is not necessarily better. I currently use 147 Grain JHP.

  • not sure if 23 grains makes that much difference. cant really say which would be better actually ,if there is a difference in stopping power at all?? maybe

  • That's an older one with a stamped slide. You can tell because it's 1oz lighter than the new ones, and it has the flat spot on the top in front of the chamber. The newer milled ones are round over the whole top.

  • Dude, Your 100% Right.

    Sig > Glock.

Sig Sauer is a good gun in any setting, Urban or Warfare :D.

Smoothest shot ever, but I want a Platinum Elite model.

  • whats tha price on that

  • He said it in the beginning of the video 700-800 dollars

  • My Favorite

  • Love this gun...but cut your thumb nail please ;)

  • yea dude this video was done over a year ago so nails have been clipped a long time ago. just put some red polish on them and they look so pretty now

  • @KoelnerMedizin hahaha lmao

  • wow a bb gun you badass

  • sigs are nice, ugly as sin but great weapons function just the same as a beretta 92fs

  • i have an xd9 and a kimber custom 2, gotta say i have more love for the 1911 kimber, so slim and accurate...sexy...

  • yeah man the kimber custom is the prime weapon of choice other than the number one name glock series os pistols

  • My favirote handgun XD

  • how much is sig p226 9mm brand new?

  • thats a first gen, hard to find since its made in "west" germany

  • LIKE BUTTAH.

    Personal confirmation: fantastic weapon.

  • this has always been my dream gun!!!!!!

  • So sexy. I must get one.

  • pellet guns are illegal too...

  • I own a Sig Sauer P226 that I purchased new in 1985. It has the West Germany logo on the side. Its in mint condition. That gun is so accurate and has practically no recoil. Sigs are expensive, but I will tell you that the quality is excellent. It is a large gun for ever day carry, so I dont carry it much. I own a Glock 30 sub, XD-40 sub, and a Kahr PM9. But the Sig is my baby. Hmm. I think I will carry it tomorrow at work.

  • @Flashvette The p6 is considered a surplus gun, u got ur's early u can still find them now but they are gonna be well used with a lot of wear and tear, but it is still a SIG so if ur on a budget & u really want a SIG go for it just dont skimp & buy promag MAGS they are horrid & jam spend the extra money and buy the sig brand mags they are really expensive but u saved money on they gun so buy the sig mags lst i checked they were 60$ plus

  • Nice firearm, I have 2 myself. I call them, ammo eating pistols. Because they digest any kind of ammunition I used. Very accurate, ease of handling, ergonomics is excellent. Very precise made handgun, after shooting all 15 rounds of 9mm, all shells in the ground very much landed on the same area.

  • is there a way to convert 9mm to 40S&W?

  • lol i come to this vid for an airsoft gun lol

  • Sig Sauers p226 9mm is the most accurate and dependable firearm that i've ever owned!

  • Excellent review can't wait to pick one up.....5 stars bud!!!!

  • I for one do not like H&K.

In most caes they cost more than Sig Sauer, but the price is not justified. I do like the mag release on the trigger guard though. Some new Walthers and most H&K have this. I think it is more tactical to be able to hit the mag release with your right-middle finger, than having to stretch to reach the release button on the opposite side of the weapon. I have practiced this, and the European Mag release design is much faster.

  • A lot of people like Glocks or even H&K's.

I think Glocks are great for practical use. They are very reliable, and will ALWAYS fire.

Sig Sauer gins will ALWAYS fire as well. But they are nicer, and a more joy to shoot do to the full metal slides on most of the models.

In my opinion the P225/P6, and P226 are the best pistols ever made. If you are not going to carry, and can afford the extra dough get the 226.

  • How easy is it to squeeze the trigger? Is it comfortable in the hands?

  • The factory trigger squeeze is not bad. A little scratchy (for lack of better term). I replaced the trigger spring on mine.

The size of the P6 is great. It is slimmer than a Glock 19. It really depends on the size of your hands. I would say for small to medium sized hands it would be a perfect fit (for the P6).

The P226, is a full size pistol, and fits almost every hand very well. The curve in the back of the grip helps you to pull the pistol into your hand. I love them both.

  • Nice

  • No, there is not a safety as i HATE safetys becaise if someone is to break into your house, you cant say : " oh, oh, time out, i have to undo my safety."

  • Haha lol what if that happend and you said that and the robber said "oh my bad, do over!"

  • 3star, get the 226, it has much better accuracy and is much smoother

  • I, myself have a sig and i can say that its the BEST!

  • nice video, just curious, does the P226 have an actual safety lever, in addition to the decocker? since it's DA/SA the gun can still fire with 10.0 lbs after decocking; also, stupid question: (you might have guessed, I'm new to firearms); is it possible to remove a chambered round without firing it? is it as simple as pulling it out once the slide is back?

  • no external safety lever. yes when you rack the slide back the chambered cartridge will eject. just make sure you remove the magazine first or another one will be chambered if the magazine is loaded

  • If you pull the slide back while there is a round in the chamber (keep finger off trigger while you do this!) the extractor will throw the round out. If you do it slowly you can till the slide to the right, and catch the round as it comes out.

The P6 is an awesome weapon. They are a surplus weapon coming in from Europe. This is only because a lot of the police agencies are upgrading (after 30 years of use in some cases) to a newer design.P6 for carry, P226 for combat and fun range time.

  • No Sig has a manual safety that I know of. The P226 is just a larger version of the P6 which is also known as the P225 (in America).

Safeties just get in the way. When it comes to handguns, especially for self defense the KISS rule applies. (Keep it Simple Stupid).

Keep your finger off the trigger, the gun will not fire. Do not put your trigger on the finger unless you are aiming at something you wish to destroy.

Sig Sauer are the best pistols hands down. This is one of their earliest models.

  • I cant figure out which to get the 226 or 229

the 226 fits my hand better If i could find a extended baseplate for the 229 id get that gun

  • im thinking of buying a used older p226 that has the made in west germany also, for like 540. its in good condition but has some minor wear on the slide. do you know if sig can re-coats to make it look new?

  • i believe they can put the Nitron finish on it that they do to their pistols now. contact them to be sure. their contact info is right on their site

  • What do you think of a 1995 P226 compared to yours?

  • i've watch a few of your videos and you have an excellent taste in guns

  • thxs

  • do you collect guns?

  • yes i collect

  • I am just curious, but what is your favorite gun of all time?

  • My favorite gun that I own is the Ruger Alaskan 454 Casull Revolver which also fires 45 Long Colt. A real blast literally. Favorite gun I dont own would be the USMC M40A1 Sniper Rifle

  • I just bought the sig p220 a few days ago and i love it! Would you say you like the sig better then your glocks?

  • its about even

  • This an older model? It looks like it's got a stamped slide. I'm probably picking up one pretty soon.

  • yes it is an older model. not sure the year

  • is this gun full me
