@TheDynamiteGeneral - We already know that the Gold Reserve Act made the Federal Reserve surrender gold to the Treasury in return for Gold Certificates in 1934. The real question is why is it being manipulated & why is it not considered money - since it should be, based on A(1) S(10) of the Constitution.
That is why we have these Domestic Monetary Policy meetings over lending practices in the first place. As for the tax code, that is not as important as implementing currency competition first.

@TheDynamiteGeneral No, that is incorrect. How it benefits them depends on the one who implements the sound money standard. Compared to Keynesian theories, it DOES NOT MATTER if you adapt a gold standard in contrast to silver. What matters is if you adopt a "scientifically pure" or "international" standard of gold. The wrong choice (for the people) led to the Great Depression.
That wrong choice was the "international" standard that was adopted in 1914. Because it is not a gold standard at all.

The Federal Reserve propped up war-torn countries that left their classical gold standard, which destroyed the economic integrity of the U.S., & created a depression with nearly 25% unemployment rates.

It does not matter who owns how much gold in this stage because a scientific structure builds monetary warehouses when they invest into the currency.
That is the major different between Mr. Paul & Mr. Cain's "sound money" pledge. Mr. Cain's would lead to a complete disaster.

@TheDynamiteGeneral - It would benefit Mr. Paul greatly if he started making calls to release $44+ trillion dollars in assets to the people due to CAFR assets & income. As for audits, it is not that easy. Those audits do not help. They still hide.
In 2008, a Bloomberg employee made an FIOA request against the Feds to release nearly 30K pages of foreign bank bailouts. They refused - then were court ordered. Why court order a bank if they do audits? Answer: Because they still hide dark secrets.

Reading through your material, it seems that that money is in derivatives, which are now pretty much worthless. To whom are governments going to sell $150 trillion(??) dollars worth of those, even if they weren't worthless? The Fed would be your only answer, since that's more money than actually exists. Ron's on target here.

Not only that but he has been against an audit of the fed (He was the Kansas City chairman), he claimed the market was fine a week before it went under in 2008, he was against Awlaki's killing in May and then did a 180 and is now for it, he supported the bail-outs, and his "999" plan was crafted by a local Well's Fargo employee by the name of Richard Lowrie, a man with no knowledge of economics. 99 flipped over is 666...the Devil is in the Details. The 9% Fed sales tax would be on top of local sales taxes, in a place like Texas it would be 17% at the register, in Hawaii it would be 13%.
