  • Your video is very inspiring. I am changing my lifestyle and trying to get fit. I am working on static hangs (hanging from the bar by hands for as long as possible) and I would appreciate it so much if you could make a video of your technique on this. Although my head's been down a long time I believe I can meet my goals!

  • Anyone ever used a USA (Universal Strength Apparatus) on this bar?

  • yea i want to get that bar too ... looks pretty good !

  • where did you buy that bar? and how much was it?

  • Cute lady :)

  • Hey Crystal. Been using my bars for a few months now and I can back up everything you say. They are great. I had a custom 1.5" top bar made which I find more comfortable for doing slow muscle ups. BTW there is a photo of you in the London Metro today!

  • What's the point of the typical pull up bars that are NOT straight? The ones which are straight in the middle and then tilt a little downwards towards the end..

  • @solidusm88 I personally think they are easier. The biomechanics of the movement are such that if your hands are on that slight slope it is easier to pull yourself up. That is why the military and World Record people use the straight bars. If you do need a pull-up bar at home this one is great:)

  • @cwestfitness But a straight bar may harm the wrists if you are an early begginer and have no idea of how to help your self up. Lots of people abandon because of small details.

  • nice vid,i like the one arm pullup

  • Hey ronzargoza, it is safe..I used it at a charity event for hours with kids on it the whole time swinging and kipping and then a 200 pound plus guy got on it..he only did one pull-up. Contact Trevor (the guy who sells it LOOK BELOW as OTHER PEOPLE HAVE CONTACTED HIM) at trapezeriggingcom. He WILL get back to you about your concerns and then you can decide if this equipment is right for you and explain EXACTLY how it is made.:) Cheers, Crystal

  • Safety Questions: 1) is there welded points on this? It appears there tubes are welded at the ends of the bar to the two little upright tubes, AND at the handles for dips, AND the upright tube that stick up from the long bars ("feet" of the system). Is this correct? 2) There is some sideways sway. Can you PLEASE post a video of Carlo doing 12 kipping pull ups and chin ups so we can see for ourselves the amout of wiggle. Just telling us it move "an inch" during kips is not as clear as showing us

  • II wish Carlo had demonstrated it outside so I could see how sturdy it is when a heavier person uses it for pull-ups outside

  • @Fatelvis2 It is super sturdy. Carlo and I used it at a charity event outside on the grass and this big guy maybe 220 tried to do a pull-up and it was fine. The thing is solid. I had two big kids on there at one time as well must have been almost 300 pounds..no problem there either:)

  • Any Barbarians out there using this? How does it stand up to muscle ups? Looks like there's some side to side movement but I'm thinking of using sand bags on the base to add stability. Looks great though. .....

  • @rippedtothebone66 I haven't done muscle-ups on it but I have done pull-overs with tricep dips on the top bar and that works great. I also have had kids at a charity event taking flying leaps at it and it held up great for that too:) Oh and I am not a Barbarian:)

  • @cwestfitness Thanks for the reply. I've decided to get a set and give it a try. Trevor at Trapeze rigging gave me some more info and it looks as if it will stand up to a fair bit. At home I'll fix it to the ground with some heavy sandbags and at just 23lbs it's also going into my 'gym-in-a-bag' for travelling as I can never find pullup/parallel bars when I'm away.

Checkout the Barbarians Nov/Dec Forum Challenge - a synch for you I think ;-)

  • sweet machine although i wish the width of the dip machine handles could be adjusted because they seem too wide for me. I like my hands to be most near my waist

  • @mckricks1 According to the makers Trapeze rigging the handles are 24" apart centre to centre which is a fair bit wider than competition parallel bars but only about an inch wider than the bars on my commercial pullup/dip station. Gym dip bars tend to be wider than gymnastics parallel bars so if someone is used to gym training these will probably be OK. I'm with you though on preferring closer hand positions.

I'm going to get one of these though so I'll post some feedback here.

  • I´d also add climbing baskets for my frustrated cat..

  • I'm disappointed it doesn't say in the video where to buy this pull up bar from.

  • @sebwingfield You can get the bar at trapezerigging (dot com) and it is awesome. Obviously I have it and use it and recommend it:) All the best to you:)

  • How does the All-in-one Bar affect wide grip pull ups? Specifically, would the dip handles force the user to have too wide of a grip that isn't practical for training? Thank you.

  • @whiskywhiskee The dipping bar is separate. If you look at the video you will see that the top portion has no dipping bar and I actually do widegrip pull-ups in the vid. Check it out because then you will see that at the end of the video I demonstrate the dipping and it is a completely separate piece. Good question though..I like my hands spaced just so as well. This bar is awesome..highly recommend it and I do think my vid will answer your question definitively:)

  • @cwestfitness Yes, the reason I ask, however, is because the website gives three options to purchase this item. The first option is just the standard bar, the second option is just the All-in-one Bar, and the third option is both the standard bar and the all-in-one attachment.

So I'd like to know if wide grip pull-ups can be done practically on the dip bar using a standard wide grip. Maybe I'm just confused as to how to purchase this. Thanks again.

  • @whiskywhiskee I see what you are saying sorry my bad. I think I would prefer the last choice (and that is what I got) the standard bar with the added dip piece bar. I will try the pull-ups with the dip bar piece on the top this weekend if you want to know what I think..although I do think people's wide grip varies quite a bit in style and the size of the person legth of the arms etc. Hope this helps, I do understand your question now:)

  • @cwestfitness Thanks so much for your replies. And yes, I would like to know what your experience is like performing wide grip pull ups on the dip bar extension, although I may just go ahead with the third option. Thanks again.

  • @whiskywhiskee I definitely like the third option purchase for the pull-ups. Sorry for the delay on this:)

  • Thank you very much for the answer. I can't wait to get mine.

  • Can you please tell me if you've used this bar on carpet, and if so, was it just as stable? Thanks

  • @greenbunny13 Yes I have and it is extremely stable.. I love mine and use it a lot both for my own training and also for charity events and demos:) Cheers

  • can you do kipping pullups without it tipping over

  • @nikkyo34 Yes, i have used the bar at multiple charity events where virtually everyone kips..adults over 200 pounds and kids in grade schoold and high school. The bar has that movement an inch or two you see in the video but is solid as a rock and will not tip over.

  • What is the height of that bar?

  • @miketysoncantpunch •Weighs 22 lbs and can take a 350 lb load.

Comes in 7 small pieces which can be re-assembled in 1 minute - no tools required!

It's 7 feet tall, and 42 inches wide.

    Made out of polished aluminum.

    The 1" thick top bar has 3 heights: 84", 80", 76".

  • i wish i could do pull ups :[

  • Crystal, are you single? :)

  • Where can I get this bar?

  • @versaflex Order it from trapezerigging (dotcom) or go to my website crystalwestfitness (dotcom) and click on the link on the crystallikes page:) I love my bar and use it a lot. Tell Trevor the owner I sent you:)

  • @cwestfitness Hey,thanx a lot (",)

  • beauiful i have another question for you is it ok to do pullups everyday to get your reps up or it it better every other day i do 3 sets of ten right now i would like to get my numbers up and i just orderd the trapeze pullup bar thanks for the advice

  • @1414hayward You are going to love the bar..nice job:) I definitely recommend every other day. You would probably have the strength for every day but in my opinion you should let the tendons and ligaments rest for a day in between. That is what I did and I was able to increase my reps gradually BUT DRAMATICALLY over time:)

  • crystal you are a very beauiful and strong women do you think it is better to do regular pullups or kipping pullup thanks

  • @1414hayward Thank you for the nice comment. I really prefer regular pull-ups for over-all back and strength development:)

  • Dear CWest,

Appreciate the videos. Had a question about the trapeze rigging pull up bar you use: Can it be used with a TRX system/ suspension system? I weigh 170 and would be using non-jerky movements. I want to be able to use gymnastic rings as well and am willing to use sandbags to stabilize the base of the pull up bar.

Thanks in advance for your comment.

  • Thanks for watching:) My hands down response is yes and yes, I have had the bar recently at a charity event where there were multiple people on it and one guy who was about 240..The bar holds up to 350 pounds. I am positive it would be amenable to both the TRX as well as the rings. However, since I have not used the TRX on my bar, if you want to talk to Trevor the owner give him a call or e-mail. Tell him I sent you:) The bar is fantastic...I use it all the time:) Cheers:)

  • Quick & handy

  • i love your arm muscles!

  • At 4:09 your arms look amazing! Women half your age dream about having arms like yours!

  • nice and your really good at pullups and very fit. how much for this pullup

  • Thanks for watching my video. I love the bar. All the info including the price at trapezerigging (dotcom). Highly recommend it..:)

  • i like it but the $280 price tag that is a bit discouraging. I will eventually buy one instead of the cheaper more awkward power tower

  • Nice, clean pull ups, you're more a "man" than most men that kip, or do like 50% of the range of full pulls :D

5 cleans are better than 30 kipped, period.

  • Hi,may i know how much that bar cost?and where did u get it?i really need one... And you are great! Really really great!!!!

  • Thank you so much. You can get the bar at trapezerigging (just google that because this comment page won't let me put in the website) Or go to my website crystalwestfitness and it is linked off my recommendations page. The bar is stable inexpensive and will last FOREVER plus it is super easy to put up and take down. I love mine.

  • so u brought yours at $200? wow, thats quite ex for me...and i m staying in singapore, not sure whether they will send it here... anyway, thanks for your info and how many pull up u do daily?

  • The bar is definitely worth it because it is so functional but ALSO becaus you will have this bar for 50 years it is so well made. I do training for back (pull-ups) about three days per week and it really depends on the type of training I am doing that day..added weight day or endurance day etc...There is more info on my website crystalwestfitness in my training log:)

  • can you safely hook the gravity boots into this bar?

  • Costaricanmohican, I would say yes because of its stability and also because it holds 350 pounds..however, you should check with the nice guy who makes these bars as I have not actually done that. You can contact him through his website. Also, you mentioned the cost...you will have this bar for 50 years no joke...:)

  • Great peace of equipment! Impressive muscle development in biceps, as a armwrestler I cant help noticing, but have you tried a one hand pull up?

  • Thanks Peter. The bar is awesome. I can now do 10 assisted on each arm, non-working hand holding forearm, but not a true one arm YET. I will be posting more videos shortly if you would like to check back.

  • Peter, I accidentally deleted your last comment..oops...I will try what you suggested today in the gym.

  • Can you do a slow one arm negative and control it all the way down?

  • I'm not sure I will try that as well:) Thanks so much for watching my videos.

  • wow you're strong!

  • Crystal should be doing infomercials on TV !!

  • Love it! very informative. So easy to put together.
