it has not enabled the self collition, you have to enable, or as you can see the cloth traspasses itself. i dont know in that version where it is, but in the new one its clearly in one button... anyway well done!
This tutorial is great, I made something similar following your tutorial
I used IcoSphere instead of UvSphere and silk instead of cotton, and I set Bake to 80 instead of 120.... Tutorials like your's help alot for noobs like me..
Is there a way to make the animated cloth into an actual model? So at frame 40 or so when the cloth is falling.. is it possible to have the cloth stay there so you can do editing to the now cloth like material ? (Using for clothing)
to render just hit F10 on your keyboard to enter the render panel, on the left you will see a bar, click on it to navigate to where you want save your video. On the right of the same panel, under the format section, select the video output you want. On default it is JPG. Then hit the big ANIM button to render your whole animation. Good luck!
@thomaskcollins Do not save it as AVI! It will most likely come out corrupted. Instead, save your animation as individual images, I recommend PNG, then re-import the images into Blender and use Blender's video editor to put them together. Flawless.
The numbers should do so and you should see the animation baking but very slowly. If the numbers keep on going without it baking, you may be low on memory. I suggest you try it on anothe pc, if it works upgrade the memory on your other pc.

1.Press F10 on keyboard to open the render panel
2.On the left type the destination of your video
3.Under format change the file type from jpg to either FFMpeg or Avi Codec.
4.Hit the big ANIM button in the centre and wait until it finishes. It may take quite a while. Hope that helps

Yup. Cloth simulation is awesome. Enable self collisions as well. Takes a lot longer but looks way better :D
