  • bet thats a slow flight...

  • wtf dude how can this plane fly ;/

  • Take that Gravity!

  • the toilet is full of shit....

  • it's like watching a skyscraper take off

  • i could plant weed in it

  • this plane looks like the one from 2012 from russia

  • absolutely amazing that thing FLIES!

  • Thing is so huge it looks like it's barely moving!

  • you are cleared for shmirnov.

  • ANTONOV Aeronautical Scientific/Technical Complex , Kiev, Ukraine: AN-2, AN-6, AN-2F, AN-2V, AN-2M, AN-3, AN-11, AN-9, AN-13M, A-15, AN-14, AN-14M, AN-28, AN-38, AN-24, AN-30, AN-26, AN-32, AN-32P, AN-8, AN-12, AN-10, AN-71, AN-72, AN-74, AN-74TK-300, AN-22, AN-70,? AN-140, AN-148, AN-124, AN-225!

  • that was cool/

  • that was cool

  • im guessing its just a mistake, but in the description you put "3880 in length" did you mean 380m? cos 3880m is .2.41 miles long xD

  • @infernus9876: The biggest bird to take off from a RWY WHICH IS 3880m IN LENGTH. Is there any mistake in this sentence?

  • @asia1mage hahah my bad, ddnt realise you were talking about the runway lol

  • @infernus9876, No problem, thank you for review the video in such a detail! See ya! Enjoy others!

  • @asia1mage

    not its not

    thats 2.4 miles

  • I should have said. REAL space shuttles....the kind that go into space. This is an amazing airplane but really it's a freak show. There's only one flying now, which doesn't exactly make for a "successful" aircraft.

  • No. This is NOT the plane that carries "them spaceshuttles". Russians don't have space shuttles. You're thinking of the American made Boeing 747.

  • how the hell did that fatass get in the air?

  • C-5 Galaxy is better!!

  • @jobjed

    lol thats some bullshit

they made there country go broke during the cold war by spending so much on its space program

  • hell u can't see

  • nice plane.....but the pilots dont make shit for a salary though.

  • pretty cool

  • Love this plane! i think that the plane at :35 is a B 757, needless to say, Mriya is STILL the largest and heviest aircraft ever, moreso than the A380 Even!!!

@Xantec i believe the MTOW of Mriya has been reported as several numbers, some as low as 600000 KG, others as high as 640000 KG, all of which leave your figure in the dust, no hard feelings, just an honest mistake :)

@eeveeman3. Mriya has 32 tires, all of them Burn Rubber when she lands too!!! :)

  • I bet four GE90's would easily do the job

  • I know, why can't more planes have a similar design? I wish I can drive one one day.

  • wow

  • w

    t

    f

    so cool

  • compensating for something?

  • Despite its size it only takes about 5 seconds longer to take off than a fully laden 747.

  • not bad given that a 747 is 300 tonnes give or take, and the Antonov is a shade under 600 tonnes!

  • Usefull of Runway ^^

  • 0:33 a normal airplane wow

  • there is one plane thats working of the an-225 three existed ever, there are two left 1 that flys and the other that is used for parts, this is the largest aircraft to have and that still flies today, nothing is bigger, the airbus a-380 is barely 3/4 the size of this plane, dont believe me look up the dimesions for both aircraft its amazing something that big can fly but i have seen this plane come in and go out of KLAS las vegas McCarran international, awesome sight to see

  • isnt there only 1 of theese planes, if im wrong please tell me :)

  • there are 2 of them!!!!

but only one now is in good condition...

  • @Farkas013 whats the point of having 2 if you only fly one, they should be both be gracing the sky, i feel the same about some other planes though, such as Concorde :P

  • both of them used to fly when soviet union existed!!! but now they belong to ukraine which has no money to run such huge planes!!!

    ((((

  • Then give the other one to the US! Haha

  • what for????

by the way it has no engines)))

  • russian biggest plane built in Brechnev period.

  • OMFG

  • ahhh old russian technolgy they need to fly it manual all the time :LLL

  • that's why it has 6 engines

  • What a monstrous machine that is. It's a wonder they get something that big off the ground.

  • i have seen it when i came back from turkey in my flight :P its just standing ther LOL

  • is the famus antonov

  • anyone know how many knots it needs @ V1?? im guessing about 250?

  • I had one of these fly overhead and I have to tell you this thing is like a castle with wings. It is so huge and loud it shakes your chest when it passes by. I love it, and wouldn't want it any other way!

  • makes the plane at 0:35 look pretty damn small! plus how many wheels does that thing have?

  • 32!

  • @asia1mage wooah!

  • @channel8100 cool

  • Dude, no Russians made it, Ukrainians did.

  • Really? Never tell this BULLSHIT again! This plane was made in Soviet Union and Ukraine Soviet Republic in these times just was part of it. Ukraine never built planes without brains, tecnologies and materials from Russia and other soviet republics (Belorussia, for example)...

  • Dude, in late 90th when the plain was built there was no Soviet union:)

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, Bodger, but its first flight was in 1988.

  • No Ukraian, made in URSS :)

  • yes it is an russian mad plane. i had the honour to see her live in Leipzig ;-)

  • Is that a Russian made plane? Wow she's huge!

  • They say that the passenger/fuel ratio for the A380 is very efficient...I can only wonder how efficient this thing would be if you could convert it to a passenger carrier. 1000 passengers? Maybe more?

    That's a beast of a plane. I be a 737 could land on it.

  • Probly and those look big when you get by them lol

  • one of the best view angle of this amazing plane, mostly film from ground level , great video

  • damn that beast takes almost the whole runway to take off...WOW...

  • huge, wanna ride ;D

  • Originally built for the Soviet space program

  • fucken beast

  • How come don't we see Russian commercial or cargo airplanes at U.S airports? Seem like they are flying everywhere but on U.S soil. They do make decent/interesting airplanes that I'd love to see.

  • It was on LAX few times...

  • Shes been to Dallas too. She flew in cargo to help with the hurricanes..

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck that things huge. Is it bigger then the Airbus jumbo?

  • biggest airplane in the world

  • @lakevilleaccord U meen the Boeing 747 and the Airbus A380?

    Well its bigger than booth..

  • fuck that thing is crazy

  • HAHA at 0:33 you can see some tiny plane go past, its closer to the camera but still dwarfed by that muthafkr O_O

  • do i smell cheese

  • fucking monster =)

    its ukrainian

  • @berkut2006 I thought it was russian..

  • @323tiim

    no its ukrainian..

  • thats is one looooong take-off run

  • Oh ! I've remember this ! That time AN225 are transport equipment for Quanta , and my classmate take this image , hi's CKS Int,l ground maintenance man .

  • sounds an awful lot like a C5 Galaxy

  • OMG! Thats something like watching how my house is flying around!

  • you have a big house! :)

  • lol Big haus with many large flats... =)

  • jesus. that fucker needs a lotta runway

  • They transport space shuttles on the top of the plane

  • what an amazing video

  • anybody know the top speed on that antonov

  • ya its 530 mph

  • Whoa, that's one big mama

  • No, it's not bigger. The An-225 is the largest plane in the world.

  • You are wrong. The Antonov is bigger then both the Beluga and the A380.

  • much bigger. the A380 is the largest passenger aircraft but not the largest. in fact, it is not that much bigger than the 747, just a little.

  • It is bigger than A380, right?

  • beautiful...like a swan. takes a bit of runway and quite noisy.

  • is this the plane who carries them spaceshuttles????

  • Yes.

  • more specifically, the russian space shuttle (Buran)

  • it was slated to carry the Russian Buran Space Shuttle up until that program got canceled

  • man, 6 engines?? a polluting MONSTER! but cool nonetheless :D

  • In absolute terms: Yes, 6 of those engines consume and pollute a lot. But relatively speaking: A 737-200Cargo can load only 15.5 tons of cargo while this monster carries 250 tons! So, according to me are 6 big engines less poluting than 16 somewhat smaller engines. Grtz!

  • Fancy using Rolls Royce Trent?

  • The write brothers are my cousins, it's remarkable to see what help a small invention has done!!

  • where is the catapult? sorry I´m kidding

Dumont also have his part in that cake.

sorry to say that, but it's the pure truth.

  • And what a legacy they've left when their kin can't even get their name right.

  • It's funny reading about them and their negative critics. It's also nice knowing how many good helpful things you can do when not critiquing other peoples work.

  • they are your cousins and you don't even know how to spell their last name ,, cough{bullshit]cough

  • do a barrel roll! LOL. that is pretty.. big.

  • That's the problem. I love planes and jet engines, but the colossal pollution makes me cringe.

  • That is the most ridiculous plane I have ever seen. One word: Why!

  • If you need to move a really heavy load (~250 tons) in one go that's your bird. Nothing else in the sky can do that.

  • One can carry away all the bananas grown in Venezuela.

  • It doesn't really "take off." It looks more like the ground falls away beneath it.

  • hahahhahaha you make me laugh

  • Man alive. That plane is huge! Carbon monster.

  • Between 0.32-0.38 you can see another aircraft in the bottom of the screen, and by this comparison you get a clear picture of how huge the Antonov 225 is!

  • those guys know how to make it in the sky

  • Pinch Me I Must BE Dreaming!

  • WHAT A MOTHER! Holy crap that thing was humongous...

  • defies the laws of physics tbh :/

  • Holy crap thats a huge jet.

  • sorry, I guess it can be used for cargo...

  • Na this one was designed to carry the russian space shuttle. It was pigy-backed to a certain altitude then lit.

  • Holy Flying Fortress BatMAN...

  • WOW

  • jesus christ that thing is fucking huge

  • I didn't think it was going to make it. lol

  • that plane comes to Denver every month!

  • r u sure about that. this plane is the same plane that takes the now defunct buron (russian shuttle) I think the one your taking about is the Antonov 124 which is regularly used as a special large transport.

  • This is the 225th comment for that An-225 clip!

  • Oh yeah!

  • I was inside that when it was in Milwaukee.

  • you were inside it! wow.

hey I thout that was a cargo plane right?

  • yes it is a cargo flight,, and Russian r the best

  • @ershad85:

"Antonov ASTC" is not a russian company. It's a state-owned company of the Ukraine. ;)

  • lol, designed for the Soivets and now operated bye Ukraine, Eastern Europe hardware was and still is big, simple and reliable.

  • jesus.. the fins on the tail are bigger than a Boing 767's wings... 0.0

  • how in the world does that thing fly? looks like a building on wheels.

  • nice vid... hard to land,.... thats a baadass son of a bitch !

  • i heard that this plane uses more fuel then a (full)747 uses for a trans atlantic flight :)

not sure if its true or not.

    good video

  • To take off? What do you mean?

  • no the whole flight to where ever its going to

  • Okey. I wish you could be more precise, because it is an interesting fact.

  • the vodka burner takes off

  • Do you remember Dumbo? elephants can fly, great engineers.

  • damn that thing is huge if it ran on solar energy or nuclear power you would never have to land. You could live on that and watch the world rot away.

  • wow

  • It comes down to how you decide to compare one plane to another. Aircraft are usually ranked by weight, the maximum takeoff weight in particular. By this measure, the world's largest plane is the Antonov An-225.

Once it enters service, the Airbus A380 will become at least the second largest plane.

@costateguise-the hindenburg was a small zeppelin. No where near the size of these planes.

  • No actually the C-5 galaxy Is The 2nd Biggest

  • An-124 Ruslan is bigger, then Galaxy.

"Mriya" An-224 was made on a base of An-124.

  • I know but The C-5 is Bigger than the A380

  • Yes but A380 is not cargo. They where planing to make a cargo virsion but to what I have heard it has been cancelled.

  • I wonder if this thing does 50mph on takeoff!

It's hard to believe that the takeoff speed is 200mph!

  • I have flown from Germany to Florida on a C-5, and would sure love to do the same on a An-225. Soviets built a nice plane there.

  • NOT only cargo, OVERALL biggest plane in the world

  • biggest aircraft ever wasnt or isnt this. It was the hindenburg.

  • he said plane not aircraft

  • same difference look it up

  • no not really. Aircraft is something that is in the air. Plane is a type of aircraft. So there is a difference.

    btw definition of aircraft

The dictionary defines an aircraft as any craft that flies through the air, whether it be an airplane, helicopter, missile, glider, balloon, blimp, or any other vehicle that uses the air to generate lift for flight.

  • talk about contradicting yourself. a type of something is the same as the thing itself. For example you just said an aircraft is something in the air? But it is still an aircraft when its on the ground, and so what do you think a plane is? Just another way of saying aircraft.

  • a plane is a type of aircraft. meaning that a plane and blimp are different considering they are two different aircrafts. But eh this is a waste of time considering you want to win.

BTW a blimp and Plane are 2 different types of aircraft.

  • an airplane is not eqaul to a blimp.

  • That's amazing that something that big can fly that high in the sky at a blistering pace. And some of us people are too lazy to jump!

  • this thing is the biggest

  • There so many tires because of the weight of the aircraft.

This is the largest aircraft in the world!

  • You mean, largest 'cargo' aircraft in the world.

  • No, I mean it is the largest aircraft in the world, to include cargo.

  • Oh, ok. Sorry lol.

  • looks nice , buut why are those many tires are for ?

wonder don`t get it the jumbo is almost muchd bigger no or the air bus or it is still the bigest plane is use by .

  • diisas krist!!! how big this thing is :P it looks biger then 747 :O

  • that thing is huge

  • Its waaay bigger then the 747 and bigger than A380 too... its the biggest plane in the world... russians had it... but now its not in use anylonger i think
