It's true what he said. It's all about the society and their perceptions on what's appropriate and what isn't. Why is eating dogs considered to be animal cruelty when those same people eat animals themselves? In these societies, people view dogs, cats etc as pets to love and not to be eaten.

But what about pigs and cows and chickens? In some societies, people have pigs as their pets and you eating pigs is the same as you eating their pets. So you see, it's all about perceptions.
