I find it amazing when sports fans hurt each other, insult one another and cry or cheer just because of a team that has no bearing on your life whatsoever.
Who here isn't a sports fan? To you non-sports people out there, do you think it's a waste of time when there are other things happening in the world?
@kjchicago1 I have watched sports as a kid because my father was always watching sports.. He spends time reading about sports when they are not playing. I am just not interested in sports, once i found out how much the tickets cost and the amount of money the players were getting paid i lost all interest.
I found that reading Carl Sagan and learning about the universe replaced my need for sports.. In the end sports really don't matter.. It has no impact on my life.
He seems to be talking about my own country, it`s sick that people become crazy fanatic of a soccer team meanwhile the government is stealing us the air we breath. It really drives me mad. (sorry for my poor ENglish, I`m from Argentina)
you are the exact opposite of the sports fans that you are describing. Most of them do care about their country, history and things like that.Sports is exactly an escape from that,i agree that some people exagerate with sports like some people exagerate with politics, whe need to find time for both.
How ironic that someone like Alex Jones would use the Matrix as a comparison to the way people are distracted from truth.
This guy is one of the most religiously indoctrinated commentators i have ever heard.
Much better if you pull your kids out of unhealthy activities like sport and send them to church for thought training and then to the shooting range so they can one day commit treason.
Who here saw the Butler-Duke NCAA Basketball Championship Game Last Night? Or who didn't? Duke won 61-57! But, now that that's over, let's focus on what's happening in America!
the thunderous cheers herd at the super bowl or any other sporting events are the same thunderous cheers that were herd at the Roman Colosseum. Its all a spectal to draw attention away from politics. just what the romans did when their gov. became more corrucpt. whats so great about watching other people have fun? i don't get it.
u lot are missing the point. people dont want to talk about politic or their believes because it'd split people in half. sport of all type bring people 2gether and that there is the point. sport doesnt question peoples believe, it gives 2 people a line to sit on and not fail out because one has one fath and other has another.
@hobosliveson So you are saying that people are better off fighting about issues that are not important versus issues that are? Sport teams divides people. In some cases crowds will start riots because they hate the other teams guts. All for a petty ball game that is now so big that it is only used for profit gains for corporations as well as a distraction.
@TheIGPD This was long time ago, my views probably change since then.... people do get upset over different issue, its just sports is another one of those thing people can speak about over another beer in the local pub, i no they do in the Uk, you walk into a pub and different topic will be talked about....
and As for Comrporations Profits, who cares... if people want they should have to pay... there nothing free in 2day world!
Ive been saying this for yrs and the ppl that are caught up in this mindless crap are often times very untrustworthy, closeminded with a blank stare that look and talk down to anyone that isnt a part of their creeepy sports cult, i cant even begin to describe how bad i hate these ppl and hate even more that i know i am outnumbered, that this sort of behavour is considered a good thing, freaking out over a fucking ball, makes me sick inside.
I think some people like sports because they lack a real "enemy" in life, so they invent one by taking an imaginary side.
I, too was somewhat interested in sports at one time. That is, until I discovered the enemy, now I root for my team - the truth! Go truth! yeah yeah yeah!
football, soccer, baseball, hockey, it is all lame :)
Stupid HumanMonkeys going wild about nothing special.
Sports is one big COMMERCIAL festival these day's and there are no sports-clubs, only sportcorporations thinking about money and global maddness about sports.

@StellerNova That's an interesting thought! Sports are just games and entertainment! Just like American Idol and TV! Entertainment!

I stand corrected on that Butler-Duke score! It was 61-59 Duke over Butler for the National Championship in NCAA College Basketball(Not 61-57)

Alex does not call on us to remember what really matters. He calls on us to believe in insane conspiracy theories.

nothin wrong with sports mate. its the incessant INFATUATION and COMPLETE SOCIAL INVESTMENT in sports thats wrong.
its not manly to paint yourself up and get drunk.
its manly to be involved and take our country back.
