You're right. It's not as good. But I don't think it's comparable to low settings. I've had Crysis run on low settings and it's terrible. I'd say about medium to high.

Yea I seriously doubt any PC from 2005 would be able to play any of the games today especially on Max settings with out a graphics card upgrade and a whole lot more RAM. If you look at the height of what PC could do back in 05 it's no where near what can be done now.
I'm sorry but I'd still rather own a console it's just a better investment to me. The PS3 is about 5yrs old and all the games on it still look amazing no upgrading needed if you had a 5yrs old PC it wouldn't be able to play Half the games released today unless you upgraded your graphics card or added some more RAM but with the consoles the games consistently look better each year with out the need to upgrade.

Alot of the time a game, expecially exclusives is designed around the hardware it will be based on. While it could technically be made to run it all comes down to how it was originally designed and problems porting to completely different hardware. No console exclusive looks technically better than crysis 1 on pc. Crysis 1 on console and crysis 2 don't look better than crysis 1 on pc. Look at the wticher 2 xbox port and crysis 1 ports, they look far inferior. Compressed youtube video is not even close to having it running on a 46 inch 1080p screen and comparing them.

Im arguing the point that say for example you put uncharted 2 on the pc, a game which is totally designed around the ps3 architecture, that how it runs and looks on the pc totally comes down to how they make it work on totally different technology. The encoding, hardware and software structures between them are so fundamentally different that PC game developers don't just simply go into the graphical options menu, turn down all of the settings and call it a day when porting to consoles. A 6 year old PC would never be able to run Gears of War 3 or The Witcher 2 as well as the Xbox 360. Not to mention, console hardware is 100% dedicated to gaming.

@pcfan2 Since when do you need to work on something to know the facts? The Xbox 360 OS is a 16 MB file that uses no more than 32 MB of system memory. Look it up. There isn't a PC OS on the planet with such low system requirements.

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE? They castrated the gameplay - Part of the appeal of original Crysis was the movement, especially with Speed Mode. Not to mention that there's longer travel distances, which will be very annoying without proper speed mode.

They still cannot run ORIGINAL CRYSIS. Original crysis is the benchmark, not the later optimized versions or crysis 2. And especially at 1920:1080, wich as we all know consoles cannot do- not even with CoD.

@Guyver2391 they use very simialar programming on consoles. Xbox is originally called Direct-x box becouse it uses microsofts graphics library Direct x 9. Pc's use 11, crysis original is in 10. Playstation uses something simialar to openGL called PSGL if im not mistaken. Its about the hardware. PC's are much stronger. In the end, my point is, no, it cannot run crysis. Not the pure original one wich everyone uses for benchmarks.

@xXM6000Xx1 A pc is way more functional then a console. Web browsing, office, all sorts of media stuff, more memory, all around better software. Its cheaper to buy one good PC (700 dollars ish) then a cheap pc and a console next to it.

@RavageFury the low end graphics card? you can have the worst graphics card on planet and it will support HD, the graphics card has nothing to do with it. the 360 has supported full 1080p for almost 3 years, it came with NXE and they announced it at E3 2009. you can buy and watch 1080p movies directly on the dashboard so I'd love to know how you think that's possible if the 360 doesn't support it.
actually, the 360 GPU is regarded as more powerful than the PS3's graphic card. and you are posting blatant lies. several games do render at native 1080p, and most multiplatform games render at a higher resolution than on PS3 counterpart. IE, GTAIV's native resolution is 720p on 360, whereas it is 640p on PS3 if i remember correctly. alsothe 360's RAM setup is better for supporting higher resolutions, and 360 has better 1080p upscaling. look up digital foundry and educate yourself.
@djaxe32 both consoles support full 1080p, and since it's a download only title it will almost definitely have a native resolution of 720-1080p and not require upscaling.

That isn't more expensive than a console when you have to replace your 360 multiple times from hardware failures. Steam has 30 million users compared to Xbox's 35 million, and a lot of PC users have Xbox accounts for Windows Live games.

It can only run crysis remade in cryengine 3 (same engine crysis 2 uses). Low res, medium textures, level streaming so no persistance across length of level, no foliage sway, etc.

Witchcraft I expect. Good game tho.

@Guyver2391 they use very simialar programming on consoles. Xbox is originally called Direct-x box becouse it uses microsofts graphics library Direct x 9. Pc's use 11, crysis original is in 10. Playstation uses something simialar to openGL called PSGL if im not mistaken. Its about the hardware. PC's are much stronger. In the end, my point is, no, it cannot run crysis. Not the pure original one wich everyone uses for benchmarks.

@Mdschannel I am not disagreeing with you. No one can run Crysis at its maximum potential and it is the Benchmark because it literally made computers catch on fire and gave peoples pc's nightmares of having to run the game

@xXM6000Xx1 A pc is way more functional then a console. Web browsing, office, all sorts of media stuff, more memory, all around better software. Its cheaper to buy one good PC (700 dollars ish) then a cheap pc and a console next to it.

As a story based gamer, I tend to have doubts about the reaccuring FPS that constantly hit the market. However, being a console gamer, and a fan of science fiction, I have to admit, this doesn't look bad. Looking foward with hopeful thoughts.

@RavageFury the low end graphics card? you can have the worst graphics card on planet and it will support HD, the graphics card has nothing to do with it. the 360 has supported full 1080p for almost 3 years, it came with NXE and they announced it at E3 2009. you can buy and watch 1080p movies directly on the dashboard so I'd love to know how you think that's possible if the 360 doesn't support it.

actually, the 360 GPU is regarded as more powerful than the PS3's graphic card. and you are posting blatant lies. several games do render at native 1080p, and most multiplatform games render at a higher resolution than on PS3 counterpart. IE, GTAIV's native resolution is 720p on 360, whereas it is 640p on PS3 if i remember correctly. alsothe 360's RAM setup is better for supporting higher resolutions, and 360 has better 1080p upscaling. look up digital foundry and educate yourself.

@djaxe32 both consoles support full 1080p, and since it's a download only title it will almost definitely have a native resolution of 720-1080p and not require upscaling.

@xXM6000Xx1 You can build a PC that can run games like Crysis 1 on high with graphics much better than a console for about $850. That isn't more expensive than a console when you have to replace your 360 multiple times from hardware failures. There's also more people playing on PCs worldwide than console users, especially in places like South Korea that only use PCs. Steam has 30 million users compared to Xbox's 35 million, and a lot of PC users have Xbox accounts for Windows Live games.

It can only run crysis remade in cryengine 3 (same engine crysis 2 uses). Low res, medium textures, level streaming so no persistance across length of level, no foliage sway, etc.

Can you seriously not see how visually downgraded this game is on the console? The only difference with this version is that it's using CryEngine3, which is what made it easier to port to the console. It's still limited to DirectX9 rendering. | This is the reason why we argue; Consolefags are so goddamn ignorant.

Trust me, this will be a big downgrade. PC gamers argue because our knowledge is much more based on fact than opinion, we can be aggressive against consoles for whatever reason, but any pc gamer enthusiast would probably know well more than a console gamer

To the matter at hand, it will be nice for everyone who missed it first time to be able to play it now without hardware worries. Heck, my new PC as of 2011 still doesn't manage to easily run Crysis (though Warhead and C2 are fine), it's a monster of a game for sure. How they put it on 6 year old consoles only God knows. Witchcraft I expect. Good game tho.
