  • Beautifully English ;)

  • One person doesn't remember the first time

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • One of the best bands of the 90's!!!

  • Saw them last night in Melbourne, still amazing! Really fantastic gig!

  • @pflounders I saw pulp a week ago in belgium :D and they're still awesome. If you have a chance to see them, just go!

  • bit 'smacky' jarv?

  • 2002 !!, why the hell is time going by so quickly.....Come back Britpop.

  • Why does Jarvis Cocker remind me of James May in this video?

  • @DCIKRONIK

Its the hair. I totally see it

  • Cocker = Hero

  • I felt betrayed when I found out Hootenanny was filmed a few weeks prior to New Years eve. Jarvis looks good though.

  • in the begin. is doc House in the public?

  • @belberalis that's not doc. House. Its Hugh Laurie, a british actor who plays the role of dr. House. No surprises he's there, he worked with BBC and likes Pulp :) After all this was 9 yrs ago.

  • @shteigerbager thanks from chile

  • in the begin in doc House? in the public

  • Considering Jarvis had been making music since the late 70s at this point, he still looked so young!

  • When this graces the speakers at Leeds fest my life will be complete <3

  • theyve been on hiatus for nearly a decade doubt they'll ever start doing anything nowadays

  • @busted916 except play hyde park, t in the park & loads of european festivals?

  • @jerseymonolith yer but except from festivals and concerts i doubt theyll ever make a new album

  • Smiths prodical ?

  • Ian Curtis style dancing going on there. I love the melancholy of this song. Beautiful.

  • rumoured for Leeds festival.... let it come true, pleaaase

  • america tour!!! please!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pflounders They're back..... back !!!!!!

  • looks like Jarvis got a bit of a shock at the end

  • Pulp comeback announced on BBC6 music 'gideon coe' 9:22pm mon 8th november 2010

  • there is always a little more left in the puckered button stinking anus to have if she dont save a piece 4 u

  • absolutely an ace performance. bloody brilliant

  • Britpop was a genre made up by writers for the NME. The NME for fucks sake. Crappest music misinformation magazine ever. I prefer to list favorite bands when asked about my taste in music. If i just said i was into Britpop it would be like admitting i liked Menswear. Or Shed 7.

  • zero dislikes, good stuff

  • Pulp actually formed in 1978! When Jarvis was 15. They are a key player in the 'Britpop' movement, although Jarvis and many others like Brett Anderson from Suede hate that term!

  • brilliant performance

  • His'n Hers is one of the best albums ever!!

  • Calvin, this is Pulp, not Britpop, they are individual and had been going 10 years before this-they have more in common with punk and John Cooper Clarke

  • jarvis es cool !!!

  • <3 mental dancing

  • one of the few moments I could say... I LIVED!!!

  • this song makes total sense to me now that I'm in my 30's. The lyrics are completely relatable. bravo Jarvis!

  • My advice is to look in the mirror, adopt an Arnold Schwarzenegger accent and shout

    DO IT!!!!!!

Note the exclamation marks - they're important.

  • u mean pete doc reminds u of jarvis

  • maybe pete doherty reminds you of jarvis saying as how pete probably wasn't ever born when jarvis sung this. jesus dude.

  • I see your point, but I'm pretty sure Pete was alive well before this song was written.

  • Lindsay i hope your doing well, i am sure you have2.3 children and i hope your well but do you remember dancing to this in the garage then falling out on the staircase on the way out......way toooo much boooze....now shake like jarvis!!!!!!! oh the days eh? :-)

  • see temon clasico yeah!!!!!!!!

  • Its Christmas Time!!)

  • that lead guitar riff on the chorus, EPIC! the epitome of the Britpop movement!

  • @calvinhealy no way is this brit pop

  • @french737373 this particular genre would probably not be referred to as britpop today, but it sure was back then. pulp are widely known as co-founders to the movement, along with suede and blur. this is what the essence of britpop was. :)

  • @calvinhealy Pulp formed in 1982,they would deny they co-founded Brit Pop

  • @cashelblue90 In fact, the band was conceived in 1978 - although that is being a fair bit flippant. It wasn't even until 1989 or so that the line-up that produced His 'n' Hers got together. 1989 wasn't even having a sniff of Britpop.

Pulp are my favourite band. I wish I could just say "I listen to Pulp" and people would know what kind of person I am.

  • @Lysimachus the good news is they are reforming next year to do some gigs, happy days!!

  • @cashelblue90 That's the first I've heard of it, but if so, I know what tickets to ask for when Christmas comes. :D

  • @Lysimachus tickets go on sale 13th November 13th,wireless festival ,Hyde park,3rd July, they will probably do other uk dates im sure

  • i remember the first time i llistened to Pulp...been a fan since. Jarvis is a lyrical genius imo

  • in this you notice he doesnt look like "Pulp" anymore..

  • So great

  • one of my all time faverite bands

  • Great song! Jarvis I love you!

  • wat a tuuuunnnnnneeeeee

  • un clasico x 100pre

  • this performance is so strong. Goosebumps

  • a great song!!....this is for you m.

  • I do remember the 1rst time...

  • wow

  • holy moly this is a great song performance

    i am a pulp fan

  • wut a band

  • Gran tema.....Jarvis please come to Peru !!

  • Latest Pulp apperance...)))))

  • Yeah they were unique.

  • love it!

  • recuerdo nuestra primera vez mi gatita

  • the first time with jarvis? OH MY GOD

  • oh yes, i dedicate this one to my ex. the 'toy' bit makes me feel so good.

  • good song.

  • Great, great stuff.

  • Jarvis eres el mejor!!!tus letas, tu interpretación,tu expreción, todo: eres la banda sonara de mi vida!!!

  • good

  • BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just f-ing perfect!

  • Another quality line off of a Pulp track called "Pink Glove" is "He doesn't care what it looks like, jut as long as it' pink and it's tight". Jarvis gets in the head of deviants and common people and us and he breaks it down.

  • Anyone noticed he pretended to hang himself at the end of that clip?

That was Pulp's last televised appearance...

  • was he not just reacting to that horrible feedback sound? he does it at the same time? Pulp will be back soon anyway. i rekon so..

  • I agree Jarv does seem a bit tired, but it's still an amazing performance - I will never get tired of this song...

  • My favorite song! Do you have any more performances from this show?

  • bloody fantastic. great song, and marvellous performance.

  • This is just fan-tas-tic!

  • "I don't care what you're doin', no I don't care if you screw him, just as long as you save a piece for me" J. Cocker

One of the best lines ever

  • Oh Hell Yeah!

    Fucking Classic!

  • brilliant lyrics on this track, cheers pulp

  • Well, he seems a bit tired at the beginning ... I wonder if musicians could get sick of some songs, if they sing them to often ... ;((

  • cool song...Jarvis really rules...:) This is Harcore (L)!!
