he didn't come to you because he was already henned up with that hen that is seen at the beginning of the video... calling does no good because he has no reason to come to you, hes already got a hen
And turkey hunters wonder why the birds are skittish. Lay off that call a little my man. He knew where you were when he gobbled the first time! A little good calling works way better than a lot of mediocre calling (you're not real, and if you keep hollering at him, he's going to figure that out.)
bud when you want to learn how to call a turkey come talk to me and sws boys three times he tells you hes coming int this video and you just yelp him away. try shutting up is all im saying and i gurantee you will see more birds within range your calling just needs some work
Hey! you see that female turkey over by the right at 00:06? the male was trying to mate! astonishing! do you know how rare it is to see animal mating? It's a bummer that the female rejected him though :p
@rokthedok horrible spelling if you would have gone to school you would have learned how to spell. Thank you for commenting though because it allowed me to view all of you wonderful videos.
thats why its called modern day hunting. still great video love to hear real hens calling and the toms gobbling. great job on the video better luck this year for turkeys hopefully.
That kinda happend to me this year the first day a long beard walked by about 70 yards out and usually they come runnin when they c a hen but he didnt go after our decoy
@SuperDeerhunter25 Ah, I got ya! The # of turkeys I got this year reminded me of one of those WWII Japanese airplanes: ZERO! >: ( Had no luck at all! >: P Now season's over till next Spring! (Or Fall, if you know someone with land who has a permit from Wildlife Dept here, that is!)
in this situation you should call to the hen copy everything she does. that gobbler will follow her and by calling to her she will come to you and bring him with her.
logsandtimber is a douche! Great Video man the audio was killer! I bet that was a privilege to hear a hen that fired up! We hear our rio's gobble hundred's of times a mornin' but I can say I have never heard a hen like that! Go check out the video! You didn't educate those bird's that's just huntin' sometime's you get the shot sometime's you don't but man it looked like a great mornin' in the wood's. Go check out our 4 bearded turkey we harvested saturdayalso be sure to join monsterbuckprofiles
nice gobbler, look at that beard! where is this? Just took one in Wisconsin on Sat. 21 lbs. He didn't come in like this though, alone and quiet as a mouse, got'm at 10 yds. This must have been heart POUNDING! haha, hunt on friend...
the hen seemed to be really fired up. in this situation i have found to mimick the hen is useful no matter how fired up she gets. i have lost quite a few opportunities by not calling in this situation. the hen and gobbler would hang up or move away. i changed my style one daywhen i got a hen fired up and she came to me. she brought the ole boy with her. i have always been a light caller myself but sometimes calling heavy seems to work. any time i can get a hen madd i let her have it.
yeah he saw the decoy and just didn't react. we tried everything this is a really shortened video. we called and when that didn't work we sat quite for around 20 or 30 minutes then tried calling again and he just wouldn't work
