Ok well I'm about to expose my ignorance here but if a home goes into foreclosure and the bank repossesses it does the borrower get their equity back or does the bank just keep everything? I mean, if the bank can repossess the house and then sell it for a profit shouldn't the borrower at least get their equity back? The banks generally make a killing off of interest alone so it only seems fair to me to give the borrower back the equity unless the bank can't resell it and at least break even.

Think about it: I just got a $157,000 loan to buy a house. My monthly payment is $1,150/month. Of that, $350 goes toward insurance/tax, $100 goes toward my principal, and $700(!) goes toward INTEREST. What do banks do to earn all that money? They sit on their asses while software does all the work.

bush and the gNOp created the largest tax hike in history, otherwise known as the iraq war. Instead of doubling or tripling our Service Member's salaries, we hired private contractors, paid them 10 times more, and lied about getting into war in the first place.
