@TheUniquelyXtreme I feel lucky living where I do where that is possible. Am pretty friendly with this one mud turtle and also a much larger snapping turtle. So naturally I worry about them.
@ctafrank hard to control since I feed the fish every day and the turtles eat some of the fish food. They occasionally pick off a ghost shrimp or even munch on some anacharis. I mostly try to control the quantity and let them eat frequently. Once in a while I let them gorge on some shrimp or fish or even live earthworms. Most turtle experts say to feed adult turtles maybe 3 or 4 times a week, feeding them well each time.
also talk about quality!!! awsome camera and such a tame turtle are there other turtles besides these 2 musks and that 1 snapper in the other videos that are tame?
@Noraturtlefan no, just the one snapping turtle and this particular female mud. There was a big box turtle that used to forage in the pond that was reasonably tame, but I haven't seen it in two years.
i would love to have that kind of relationship with a wild turtle

not sure if i can find wild shrimp in NYC for my 3 striped mud. can i get fish for the supermarket? if so, which to buy? thanks
ctafrank 7 months ago
@ctafrank I buy my shrimp from the supermarket. It is wild caught, frozen, with shell. No reason you can't find it up there.
