  • you should re-record with 2 computers. One does the recording the other just runs : ) your OS

  • First off, a few hours ago I downloaded the newest release of OpenSUSE and it's awesome. Many people have stated there were issuse with the wifi but whatever. I actually get BETTER signals and transfers with OpenSUSE than Ubunutu, Kubuntu, and PCLinuxOS...

...but, I need assistance. I have the Gnonme interface but when i click the "computer" on the lower left I get a KDE like menu. How do I get a menu like the one in this video??? Thats the only thing holding me back.

    Help, Thanx

  • Go to add item to taskbar, add the classic Gnome menu.

  • Thanks!

  • I need help. I was Win user for 15(!) years, but yesterday i tried OpenSUSE on my laptop (ASUS z99h), so during the installation i got a problem - what to choose Gnome or KDE4? I surfed lots of websites and the best answer was - try both. I don't want to do it. And i'd like to ask you - what is more comfortable for experienced win user? I'm not going to be a developer i just want to run openoffice, firefox, jabber, video & music. What variant is better for me - KDE4 or Gnome. thx

  • KDE prob has a more familier layout in terms of the start menu etc as default and with gnome the start menu and taskbar is on the top of the screen by default. But these can be changed (as you can see in the vid he is running gnome but his taskbar is on the bottom). If you want a familiar layout from the start choose KDE but if you don't mind tweaking and customizing choose gnome coz i have found it to be slightly more stable and less resource hungery then KDE.

  • but having said that there is little difference between the two. It's down to person preference as ur research has found. If you are new to linux and just want something that looks like windows choose KDE.

  • GNOME IS AMAZING never even tried KDE

but my cisco teacher also thinks gnome is the way to go

  • I got used to KDE. My Cisco instructor did not know of how to use linux at all. :) Did you get the CCNP? I said so, because I got freak out after the CCNP course. :)

  • Super Linux Drives XD

  • I try the Opensus 11 today ans I love it more the

    windows vista

  • 11.1 rulez. :) I don't know about 11.2, I did not like the idea that firefox went the default browser, I hope that they have a choice so you choose Konqueror as the default, and if you want to add Opera, Google Chrome etc.
