Decent locks will keep most neighborhood kids and tweakers out, but most anyone else planning on burglarizing you will either footpick the lock or just go through a window. Still just like the story about running away from a tiger not by outspeeding the tiger, but by outrunning the guy next to you; you don't have to have an impenetrable fortress. you just just have to be more secure than your neighbors.
