  • Great talent RIP

  • What an amazing talent.

  • hey check it out at 4:45 in the track...the guy singing harmony covers Eddie's vocal lead over with his vocal harmony.. Suddenly sounded like Eddies voice changed abruptly there....Well, at least we know that truly was a LIVE PERFORMANCE.

  • Canada, eh?

  • R.I.P big guy

  • love love and miss Eddie~~~

    thanks for sharing

  • great upload....thank you....

  • ALWAYS Loved Eddie, ALWAYS Will... rest in PEACE Eddie, you are surely missed...

  • Real, true, country...

  • Eddie's agent who "had no idea Eddie was terminal" and had "talked to him" often, remarking that Rabbitt "was always upbeat and cheerful," in the final months of his life. Although he was widely believed to have been born in 1944 (this year can still be found in older publications and texts),it was revealed at the time of his death that he died aged 56 and so was actually born in 1941

  • anybody knows the cause of his death and what year?

  • @attybong 1998 from lung cancer .he had surgery and radiation.Thought he had it beat but it came back.He also was a good family man as he was faithfull and kept away from night life when on the road.

  • @attybong 7???MAY 1998 LUNG CANCER

  • actually taped 4-26-1977 my actual day of birth, to cool, I was probably getting my butt smacked by the doctor while this was going down

    Miss you Eddie!

Most underated singer songwriter of all time!

  • im 45 and rember my band covering eddies songs these were two of my favorites we use to killem with these.ive always loved these lyrics miss you eddie thanks for posting

  • Oh I sure do miss Eddie RAbbit~~~

    thanks for sharing this vid~~

    and thank GOD for youtube.

  • Eddie was an absolute genius. Few people today are aware that he wrote 'Kentucky

Rain', which was a HUGE hit for Elvis, & it is what got Eddie started in Nashville. He was a great song writer, as well as a singer. He was one of a kind & sorely missed.

  • have always been told i look like Eddie. I've had people stop me and tell me so, many times.

  • They dont make country music like this anymore. THis music reminds me of my parents so much.

  • Okay Eddie sounds great as one would expect but Ronnie needed to fire the sound man, the back-up vocals (poor back up vocals no less) absolutely drown Eddie out.

However I was happy to hear "I Can't Help Myself" no doubt on of Mr Rabbit's best.

  • I'm showing my age when I can say I remember when Eddie Rabbitt came on the scene. He didn't look "country" when you looked at him, but just listen to these 2 great songs. Very talented and handsome guy!

  • I don't care where he was from, I think he was one handsome dude! and I loved to hear him sang, I Love A Rainy Night.

  • Great Video, But Ronnie made one mistake and that was Eddie's Scout Master tought him the Guitar, not Banjo.

And for the male background Vocalist on "I can't help myself " the Master gain was Just a little louder than Eddie's.

  • RIP Eddie. We loved you and you are not dead to us. Your music lives on in our hearts.

  • there used to be a live thing him doing "Step by Step". seems to be gone now. damn it all

  • Agreed, q!

    JimB

  • Man, what a voice! I don't care where he was from, Eddie had IT! He was such a blessing to country music. He is sorely missed.

  • @rockinredneck57 got that shit right

  • @rockinredneck57 I couldn't say it any better redneck!? Sure miss the guy, he was the best in his era for sure!

  • I turned 11 the very day of this recording-I had SUCH a crush on Eddie! Why didn't you wait for me huh? Seriously a tremendous talent!

  • i dint know he was from New York, good gracious , im one of his fans

  • I was always told he was from east orange NJ. Hence his "Jersey Boy'.

Maybe he grew up in NJ??

  • youre right , my bad... he was born in Brooklin ny but raised in NJ..,,,thats what wikkipedia reads about him...

  • great singer , i sure loved him

  • Every since I downloaded this video a month ago, I've been listening to both over and over again. I miss Eddie Rabbitt, thank you so much for positing this video.

  • Why were all of Eddie's other hits taken off of here?

  • can anybody find the song i just wanna love you by eddie rabbitt

i really enjoyed that song growing up but can not find it

    thanks

  • Thank you for posting these two songs. They are my favourites. Poor Eddie Rabbitt, he died too soong. I wish I had a chance to tell him how great he sang and how we loved him here at home. However, we listen to his music constantly so he is not dead to us.

  • Eddie has always done such a wonderful job with his songs - his voice is unmistakable. I love both of these songs - especially "I Can't Help Myself". His emotions always go into his music and he is a very sexy guy. My favorite of his is "On Second Thought" which has apparently been deleted from YouTube now. Also, Eddie and Crystal singing "Just You and I" is a beautiful song. Thank you for posting this video by this great artist. - Paula

  • name of 2. song????

  • "I Can't Help Myself"

  • What a great entertainer!!! What a great loss to us!!!

  • I had forgotton all about these songs, but wow, they are great. I can't help myself, the great Eddie Rabbitt.

  • Thank you so much for sharing these songs with us. Both BMF and of course Mr. Eddie Rabbitt. The memories that this clip has brought back are things I havent thought about in all these years. Thank you.

  • eddie was before his time

  • I loved Eddie Rabbitt---we were supposed to

see him at our county fair, but his son

had just died and he cancelled. He was

so humble and sweet. My kids loved him

    also.

  • Its pity that very few people know about this great singer. But whenever anyone listens to him find captivating. Sadly likes other greats he died early.

  • so true

  • HE..WAS ..AWESOME

  • Eddie Rocks I have always loved him~~~

    his music was great~~~

  • Seeing him twice at our county fairs are experiences I will never forget. Once he blessed us with his fiddle playing and let the Irish really come out. What a TREAT!!!

  • anything..anything from this man...i love

  • Can the backups tone it down a bit!

But any video with Eddie's music is worth it.

  • eddie was a damm great singer

  • yes he was

  • disco4ever loves this song....so many great memories... Eddie was awesome and is missed. Thanks for this great post.

  • this is a very romantic man with a unique voice ;)

  • I've never heard of the Ronnie Prophet Show, so finding the video with these two songs has been like a walk down memory lane. I thought Eddie Rabbit was so hot thirty years ago, thanks for posting this.
