What a horrible shot to take, you could have atleast waited for a better shot seeing you were patient enough to sit and wait in a tree and in the rain! Poor shot placement too if it weren't for spining this buck you wouldn't have found him.
LOL unethical he had a perfect shot, he just missed where he was aiming. It happens at times. At times you miss high or low. Sometimes deer jump you're string, to you non hunters, that means the deer drops down low. Which is why he hint in the spine. which snaps the spine in half. You look at it again the bucks back side to his legs wasn't moving. Means the buck was paralyzed. Which means no feeling. The buck only had use of the front legs. So shut the hell up.
Dont listen too all these "master" hunters....they just love to pick on other hunters because they are so perfect.....it was as ethical as a kill as you can make.....if its hit through the gut and takes 24 hours to die I can see but a deer crawling 30 yards is no different than it running 60 yards with its heart and lungs blown out.....its just easier on the eyes...so grow up and quit busting the guys balls. He made the best shot he could with what was offered..
@stefcat12 Here's the deal. I set up this stand in a funnel area that I've killed good bucks in in the past. This buck was following the same route as the others. I did have out a natural deer urine on that scent wick. As for the shot. I spined the deer, and made a quick follow up shot to end it. I was filming myself on this day so I just edited the second shot out. Most hunters understand that a quick second shot is required for a spine shot. There was no need to show the 2nd shot.
@stefcat12 how bout you quit bn so negetive about the shot that was the most ethical shot he could take this wouldnt be any different than if the deer ran out thru the woods an dropped dead 15 min later are you saying thats unethical? next time before you try to be a critic on sum1s technique why dont you stop and think wether it makes you look like a fucking idiot first
@outdoorinsights Oh, you took a second shot in under 30 seconds. That deer sure moved far in 30 seconds with innervated hind legs. And it must have been a second shot with a rifle, because I see no second arrow in that Buck. Unless you pulled it out, right? Yea that must be it.
See I agree with the others this deer did not die fast because he crawled about 25 -30 yards. I actually had my first spine shot yesterday and it was the worst feeling in the world because i had to finish it off, nice deer but not the best shot selection
Watched it 5 times & read comments & as a hunter I say 2 many people r worried about video than beening a good hunter. I would have took the shot but after 1st shot, he was laying & quivering. U should have shot him agian 2 kill it instead of celebrating 4 camera. Don't believe he died fast. U shot him under the stand & look how far U walked to find the him. Take care of buisness & finish the job & show animal respect by ending his pain before U worry about anything else. Good deer & good shot,
jcoash, I think you need to spend time hypocriting people who acutally take bad shots and the animals suffers but this wasnt a bad shot at all actaully i think it was damn good after a good tasting supper!
unethical shot should never have been taken. I'm a hunter but, you don't take shots like these... these are the shots that give a hunter a bad rep. My personal opinion.
Sorry you feel thast way. I practice shooting straight down, and I know where I'm hitting. The deer died very quickly and humanely. I don't see how this gives us a bad rep, but we all have our opinions. I'm for any quick kill that desn't let the animal suffer. This one was over quick.
@bigcitydreams1325 Yeah. I always shoot more than most people think I should (gun or bow) because I know if it were me being killed I'd like to be out as quickly as possible.
@bigcitydreams1325 With a bow they don't die instantly anyways. They don't die instantly with a gun, unless you shoot them in the head. Lets see spine shot, mm spine cut in half most of the time. The bucks front legs only moving. From the arrow to the back legs no movement, paralyzed. Watch again, paralyzed means no feeling = no pain. Just people commenting on shit they know nothing about. To all the Democratic Liberals making comments.Ethical, Shut up, and stop supporting BABY KILLING.
It was a spine shot, and fortunately it died quickly right there under the stand. Its not ideal to hit them like that, but it makes for a short track.
that was sorry, and to be all happy about to make ph. call when its alive. quit hunting. your embarrassing and do the rest of US no good.

not even deserving to be named a hunter.
he should have finished the job first (probably to chicken to do it) and not make a phonecall and look at the animal what.... half an hour later???
also i understanded they used an artificiall hormone scent to lure the deer?
that is not hunting, just shooting poor animals for fun. withouth the scent this deer would have stayed way clear and be much more alert on danger.
no skill at all, just a triggerhappy idiot who doesn't even make a clean shot.
stefcat12 2 years ago
Looked like a clean shot to me. Deer died and didn't go far to do it

Yes. End it quickly.....

The spine shot can be effective, just like that. Nice self film job and great deer!
actionsports111 3 years ago
@actionsports111 It might kill deer but they don't die instantly with a spine shot they usually suffer until there shot again
