  • Hysterical

  • dave really doesn't strike me as a fan lol

  • @fizzkid2000 I always got the impression he learns about people who come on then forgets about them afterwards. It seems to be his style.

  • That music Paul plays when he enters, I've been wondering what that is for 3 years now. What is it?!?

  • FUCKING CRACKHEAD

  • @4chanGANGBANG no pot head tut

  • Rascal Flatts on the same show as Kevin Smith...is that funny to anybody else?

  • god, id loved to get stoned with Kev, holy crap i think i'd die laughing

  • Yes, because glasses usually are for dumb people.

  • " No hookers, No coc XD

  • GOTTA LUV KEVIN

  • i figured it out. He made decision to become a celebrity.

  • Its Funny, Letterman just said he never met Kevin Smith in person on TV tonight...haha

  • @AIELLOJL why is that funny? he is old and has dementia lol/

  • @PanayotiProductions I think you have dementia if you are not smart enough to pick up on Letterman's intelligence...

  • @hgates101 Sue me dickhead!

  • Kevin is great in the Die Hard flick. He really is a dynamic personality. I hope he acts more. Fantastic. Lot's of directors make great actors. But the latter usually comes first in thier careers.

  • he wears the same coat in all of his interviews....he is hella funny though.

  • he wears the same coat all the time

  • "tell me something. who's you second choice to play Silent Bob? Ryan Goslin? Shit."

  • Letterman's so quick! His "keeps our jokes fresh" crack was awesome.

  • @rohbit

LOL Yeah. If that was spontaneous, thats impressive.

  • kevin smith: cool dude.

  • I thought of Clerks II as a cool indie movie more than a low budget one.

It was funny, I had fun watching it, and it had a message in a smart way, unlike those Bruce Willis type movies where you have your hearing damaged through 5/6 of the movie by loud gunshots and explosives.

I wonder if it would've cost more if Smith's character(Silent Bob) would have talked more in movies directed by Him! Any relation?

  • guerrald..

He meant the first Clerks was low budget. Thats the budget he gave. And as far as him taking the Silent Bob part...he said its because he cant act..thats why he took it in the first movie..and then had to stick with it. haha

  • Who WOULD be a good second choice to play John McClaine?

  • @longlun matt damon is the only A list actor I can think of who might be able to pull it off, with some of that Boston swagger from Good Will Hunting

  • In terms of acting, perhaps. But Matt Damon is a little too pretty-boy. Or rather, John McClane is a little too rugged and badass to look like Matt Damon. I was thinking Keifer Sutherland, but obviously that's way too typecasting...

  • cool dude

  • Yep, I love Letterman but he shouldered pretty much everything Kev had to say.

Uneasy interview in my opinion, yet I believe Kev thinks it went well!?

  • i love him and his jacket

  • i wonder how often he washes it... its pretty much the only form of clothing i ever see him in. lol

  • maybe he has more than one

  • that was wierd to see - love both those guys but i seriously doubt they subscribe to the same school of funny.

well maybe dave wants to but he's gotten so responsible since the 80s.

maybe if affleck came on and slapped kevin while wearing a neck brace or something i don't know...

  • The type of guest Dave dreams about, and of course he gets with Mr. Smith. Well done.

  • Great interview , funny cat.

  • shut the fuck up

  • Malcom Ingram!!!

  • Did he forget he was going to put the tim burton quote "And i would especially not read anything written by kevin smith" on his book. D:

  • hah i love it how dave starts laughing whenever he gets nervous.....

  • fuck darthhater!!!!!!!!!

  • Why did Letterman play Life Wasted by Pearl Jam? Is that a shot at Kevin Smith?

  • cuz the name of the book is "My Boring Ass Life."

  • Letterman didn't play it!

  • im a cub & yes i totally wanna see Kevin naked ._.

    awesome i love reaper

the second season well be in march

  • I thought Kevin Smith was "Silent Bob"?

  • he is silent bob

  • You should see the "An evening with Kevin Smith" dvd´s...dude talks a lot

  • What, the fact that he's wearing Silent Bob's trenchcoat doesn't give it away?!

  • you fail, turn off your computeer

  • Funny sir

  • funny motherfucker

  • They played "Life Wasted" by Pearl Jam...that's just awesome.

  • Didnt he return your love letter?

  • smart guy!!! don't let the clothing and glasses fool you people. =)

  • @penelopegzz why would glasses fool you into not thinking he's smart?

  • darth hater

  • he is the sexiest Bear alive :)

  • omfg im wompa1!

  • Funniest interview I've seen on Letterman in a long while.

  • kevin smith is a pimp

  • Letterman: "Oprah, Uma" (when he hosted the Oscars)... Kevin: in shock for knowing someone sexualizes him.

Kevin obviously wins by landslide as the funnier guy.

  • wow you could really tell that dave didnt like kevin eh?

  • i think dave just doesnt like his life anymore

  • LOL Kevin should have his own late night show, but it should be on HBO or something like that... i'd watch that

  • Kevin should have his own Late night show, but i think it should be on HBO or something that would be really funny!!!!!

  • lol. I had become rather bored with KS due to his lack of comics writing (arrg) but this video reminded me of why no matter how much he fails to live up to the standard of his first four films, as a regular guy he still seems pretty darned down to earth and awesome.

  • Kudos to you master Smith for making Letterman your bitch. He looks so uncomfortable and cannot match smith's wit.

  • wow...you hit it on the nail with that statement

  • Letterman is so pathetic...

  • why?

  • lol, wampa1

  • It's great how he talks about all these really candid topics, but still is polite to a fault and calls Dave "Sir". Kevin Smith is awesome!

  • Kevin Smith is the coolest! Compare and contrast his and John Goodman's appreciative reactions to the bear community courting them to the outright homophobia of Richard Karn, who FREAKED OUT when he learned of its admiration of him. Richard, watch this video and LEARN SOME RESPECT!

  • Really? Richard Karn? That doesn't sound like him...

What do you mean by 'freaked out' exactly?

  • Wow! I've never seen David Letterman look so uncomfortable. That was incredibly. And all the while KS is just carrying on a normal conversation with a straight face. Too cool.

  • Yep, especially at 7:05 when Kevin Smith mentions "chubby chasers" Dave for some reason looks REAL uncomfortable! ROFL, he blushes and doesn't even touch the comment. Guess that shows Dave up for having been such a fat-hater for so many years!

  • he's SOOOOOOOOO funny! :D

  • Well done Mr. Smith

  • Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for sharing this! Kevin Smith RULES!

  • he's hilarious, as usual

  • Chasing Amy and Dogma were both critically successful.

  • so the daily show and colbert report are only of interest to those over 70 now? weird.

  • Ok so that's at least two good movies that he's done. How many good movies have you made?

  • Smith's possibly one of the best directors out there.

  • Kevin Smith kicks ass.

  • Thank you, this post opens my eyes. What a truely wonderfully well put set of arguements. Youhave really done me a huge favor. After enjoying a great bunch of Smith's movies I can now see the error of my ways. What a revelation.

I'm truely in your debt. Thank you!

  • thanks for posting this!

  • i love how when Mr.Hotness (Kevin of course) begins talking about the bear community Letterman has this look on his face that just screams "what the fuck are you talking about? Are you fucking serious?"

  • Hehe

That's the media stereotype for you...

  • Seriously, Letterman was like "You Can't Be Serious"

  • "really? you dont want to do it? so.... whos your second choice to play mclain?"

    LOLOLOL i lovooe iiiit

  • i love how polite he always is in iterviews and the way that he called david 'sir'.

seriously, when is the last time you remember someone calling him 'sir' and actually meaning it?

  • Haha obviously you don't know Mr. Smith, he calls everyone sir. Good point though.

  • If I met him, I would call him sir. For the cool movies he's made, he deserves to be called "sir" (or the Warlock). ALL HAIL THE WARLOCK!!!

  • I'd call him 'sir', too, but perhaps in a diferent context (or maybe not ;) ).

  • good job sir, good job

  • I love him, he's such a cool guy.

  • I loved what he said about blogging. Especially, "You're fat! and I'm like, I know." With the typing motion. Why do people bother to point things like that out? Such a waste of time and pixels.

  • HOT!! Him (physically and personality), how he dresses, and his Chucks!

  • I "sexualize" you every night Kevin!!!

  • Can't wait for the next issue of "A Bear's Life".

  • Me neither! I'm SO excited!

  • i can give him what he wants lawl.

  • bear cock

  • Great interview! Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks Twetz - appreciate your work mate.

  • Awesome.

  • Thanks for the up. I fell asleep.

  • great interview with Kevin. I wish I had dvr'd it so thank you for posting.
