i think the colour of the costume is grossly wrong considering its supposed to be her 1st big mujra!! .. its a very uninspiring and lackluster colour tone with no wow-factor at all.. i think they avoided milk white / shiny silver to avoid direct comparison with "In aankhon ki masti ke" from the rekha's umrao jaan, but this colour gets a big thumbs down !!

@littlebitbritish depends how you want to interpret it. She does tend to bring her hand to her mouth when she says salaam and counts her fingers when she has so many things to tell you. Other things may be more subtle such as when she sings about Shirin and Farhad she draws a line up her arm then looks at it... Farhad had to build a huge canal to prove himself and Shirin would secretly watch him dig. She is being flirty because she is a prostitute drumming up business for her brothel!
Usually, the wedding dress boutiques in major cities in India carry the costumes similar to this. You order a custom made for ur size from their catalog. Such dresses are worn by Indians only on special functions. The more elaborate the embroidery the greater the cost because it is done by hand. The best costumes are in movies b'coz they have big budget and after the movie, the movie producers auction the clothes off. Fetches even more price than what it originally cost them.

i think the colour of the costume is grossly wrong considering its supposed to be her 1st big mujra!! .. its a very uninspiring and lackluster colour tone with no wow-factor at all.. i think they avoided milk white / shiny silver to avoid direct comparison with "In aankhon ki masti ke" from the rekha's umrao jaan, but this colour gets a big thumbs down !!

@littlebitbritish depends how you want to interpret it. She does tend to bring her hand to her mouth when she says salaam and counts her fingers when she has so many things to tell you. Other things may be more subtle such as when she sings about Shirin and Farhad she draws a line up her arm then looks at it... I agree fully with "LiteraryWriter". Actually a lot of Asian Girls born in USA were so thrilled to see Ash reply to that "demeaning" question about living w/ Parents with a strong and confident reply.
