  • Old type A??

  • i have been speedcubing for 6 months i sub 17

  • People learn and progress differently. Feliks was sub 20 in two months. I have a friend who has been doing it for months and hasnt broke 2 minutes. Iv been doing it for 8 months and Im 17-19 seconds with a PB of 7.32

  • you're really good! You don't turn the cube super fast but you're really steady and smooth!

  • i love it when you get a pll skip ...but you stall thier for a second like whoa holy crap

  • hey ah wouldn't it be easier to start from the same side all the time? or is there like some sort of rule against that?

  • this sounds like a very chilled out competition

  • @Thrawst what's your twitter? Are you color-neutral? Nice video!

  • I thot the title sed 5 min. 18.14!!!!

  • I've got this t-shirt! :D

  • is that jackson warley?

  • are u colour neutral?

  • There was one PLL skip. ^_^

    (I think)

  • yeah. surprisingly though it was still an average score. still amazing :)

  • Awesome Average! :)

  • what side do you use as a TOP?

cause i've seen you usin silver as a top on one solve, and orange as a top in another one =\

  • @telekogoloviy he's color neutral, which means he uses all colors, depending on which cross is faster

  • @christianx32 wtf is that even possible? xD

i cant imagine i did a thing like this, maybe it will come in 1 year or so, cuz too hard for me now)

  • What method do you use?

  • does anyone know the account of the judge?

  • is that type A 1,2,or 3

  • omfg i just noticed this, you arms, hands, and fingers are almost identicle to mine. :|

  • yeahhhh improvement!

  • 4 years, but yes I am aware of this, oddly I've been cubing almost exactly as long as Erik Akkersdijk and look where he is. Chris Hardwick took several years to get sub-20 also. Some people focus on other things besides cubing, videos in my case, which i now get paid for on a monthly basis.

  • @Thrawst how long did it take for you to learn f2l oll and pll, i've been able to solve the rubik's cube for about a week and a half and i'm able to solve f2l slowly

  • hah then i can say like this i learned to solve the cube in december and i can solvei t sub 20 sometimes but thrawst maybe train other puzzles?

  • thrawst has other interests besides from cubing like programming

  • I've been doing it for 2 and 1/2 months but you don't here me boasting about being sub30. Oh wait, I just did boast.

  • @TheIsChen dude fuck off. If it took you only 1 year to get to sub 25, then you have no life. I've been cubing for 3 years, and I'm barely sub-30. I put school and friends before cubing, and so does Thrawst so stop bitching.

  • @swade347 dude, im not that interested in cubing, like having no life, and ive been cubing for 8 months, and im sub-17

  • @swade347 dude, im not that interested in cubing, like having no life, and ive been cubing for 8 months, and im sub-17. so dont complaint, everything is possible ;)

  • @TheIsChen im less than 5 months in, and i have a 24 second average...

  • @TheIsChen lol dude being sub 25 after 1 year suck

im cubing for 9 monthes and im sub 16

  • Do you know full OLL & PLL?

  • omg you're so consistent

  • his cube looks epic....

  • dude your so fast at doing the cross

  • just practice it, plan ahead in the inspection.

  • You seem so calm when doing f2l.

  • your the best:D

  • how much money is it to join a competition

  • I lold at "What, was that another skip?"

  • lmao pll skip jinx you owe me a soda

  • so you have a stack mat and stacktimer do u stack also?

  • That guy next to you was annoying.

  • by the way, this you tear the red thing at 0:38

  • dude, what cube are you using?

  • I'm pretty sure he says in another video that its a type a diy.

  • yeah, then i saw his average of 5 with his new camara and he said it...

  • its a rubiks aneversary cube

  • if not for the pll skip, that would b a horrific time :S

  • probably around 20-22 yea.

  • Sheesh. I average 45 seconds.

  • Son of a gun, PLL skip ftw!

  • wait so is this your main speedcube now because your other cube melted?

  • yeah if u didnt pause u would be sub 15

  • Where did you learn your f2l oll and pll?

  • you really rock !

  • hey, how can you do that? you pause a LOT!

  • my moves are efficient? I never really noticed that thanks for pointing it out.

  • You need to seriously review the video.

  • he is a moster!

  • dude. u are amazing at this. i was really into these things i just stopped and now i cant believe how good u r. great job

  • How can you have no recognition turn not so fast and still get sub 20?!

  • wth are you talkin about. hella recognition. he probly knows more algorithms then you. and you dont if he had speed, it would be sub 10. But his slow speed incresess his looking ahead.

  • I know full Full Fridrich and Look how much he stops during F2L and you call that look ahead.

  • gratz on 3rd place

  • lol Taylor on your last solve,"that's a plus 2? it's on the crack" lol. good job again. good thing you didn't have any pops either in this round:)

  • you made the fourth one look easy

  • i have a question: Do you bring your own cube to a competition?

  • yea thats his 25th anaversey cube right

  • Yes, you do indeed bring your own cube. Either that, or you could get a brand-new-shiny-out-of-the-box-Rubik's-Brand.

    Your choice ;)

    Nice solves, Thrawst!

  • Your judge was who I bought my Eastsheen from! It was a great deal!

  • Crazy... Final round? Sorry I couldn't be there =(

you look like you're going really slow and have really bad recognition times... Of course, I have worse times XP

I still suck at the color neutrality game Xp

  • Nice average. Really relaxed for a competition too, I get nervous haha.

  • I do to, my times in the first round were terrible.

  • Kk, nice times in this round though =), you know full OLL yet?

  • oh pll skip lol

  • Nice !

  • what camera are you using? Are you Tristan Wright?

  • yup

  • yeah, he's tristan wright

  • Canon HF10

  • awesome

  • wow delayed reaction on the last turn of the first solve

  • kewl. so if u got 3rd then who won the competition?

  • From WCA :

Patrick Kelly won the Aurora Summer 2009 with an average of 15.60 seconds. Niklaus Parcell finished second (17.71) and Tristan Wright finished third (18.14).

  • wow have you gotten faster not even 1 over 20 seconds

  • at the start were they placing bets ??

  • Who were the people around u?

Like there was a girl who appeared to be either timing you or filming you with her cell phone. who were those people?

  • Nice job

  • wow the guy next to you is like oh that is so a plus two every second. wuts he doing, like purposly dropping it when he needs to turn it once more still??????

  • what method do you use??

  • Fridrich Method

  • awesome job thrawst, i hope to be as good as you some day, im only averaging around 40 seconds. please go check out my videos

  • #140 for 3x3

    #19 for 5x5

    - in US

    holy crap

  • awesome average :)

  • What was the money exchange at the start of the vid about ?

  • You did really well! :D Lmao, "it's in the crack" hahahaha

  • WOW your fast and your cube looks SO smooth.

  • FINALLY! you got faster.... took you long enough

  • NICE SOLVES

On the third, you were kinda slow T.T

  • pro.

  • Congrats on coming in 3rd, do you have any tips on how to learn OLL and PLL? The OLL picture thing on your website no longer works, plus it is hard to just learn it from pictures.

  • i hope to see you see you at nationals man

  • is this a store bought cube??

  • well done man this is soo fast what 3x3 do you use?? and what is the best one

  • well obviously not too nervous ;)

nice job again. It was pretty close in the end, a little less than half a second.

  • thanks:) it was definitely close in the end though:)

  • Comment removed

  • Just .14 seconds off your average and you'd be qualified for US Nationals.

  • Wow! The first two you had like a PLL skip or whatever......lol =D

  • only the first, the second he had Yperm

  • The 2nd one wasn't a skip

  • His second one didn't have a pll skip.

  • Good job! im going to the indiana open saturday.

  • I almost got the oppurtunity to go, but I just couldn't because I live in Ohio, and it would be either really expensive in money, or I would be really tired because of the drive, but good luck!

  • That sucks.

    And thanks!

  • what kind of cube do you use?

  • I believe he is using a DIY Type A, it seems to be the same cube he uses in his 3x3 Average video. A few weeks back

  • i Throughd that he left guy was an gitl

  • 1 was horrible, 18 w/ a PLL skip?? That's like something I would get XD. Jk, nice avg. Though I'd expect a 15 with a PLL skip...

  • yea i know, full step it would have been ~21 probably, I'm content with it though.

  • Wow.

I can't even touch 20 seconds. And yet you are able to average under that!
