I've been always puzzled by this specific piece of computer history, the Xerox PARC. Finally I watched this video that confirmed my thoughts. Executives are almost always overrated and need to earn much less money. IBM also had his blunder with Microsoft. There is something that makes Big companies turn dumb and slow. I'd like to read more about PARC. Thanks for uploading this video.
Steve Jobs CREATED BSD when he was developing with OpenStep, the first versions of OSX ran on PowerPC which was made by Apple, people do little research, and yet they think they have the answer
@richardsonl91 Steve did NOT create BSD! BSD = Berkeley Software Distribution... Like that Univeristy, or sometimes referred to as Berkely UNIX. Even more so the core of BSD was from AT&T(who licensed their OS and its source out to several places including Berkely).. HE DID NOT CREATE BSD. Learn about AT&T Unix, & BSD before you speak on that.
Actually Microsoft was contracted by IBM to produce a CP/M clone. Bill purchased 86-dos from SCP, then licensed that OS to IBM. Microsoft has copied others only. The gui came from Xerox, then MS started to license their OS to other pc manufacturers, and offered kickbacks in exchange for selling MS software in bundles at a discount. They killed Wordperfect, Louts 1-2-3, netscape, etc. Microsoft imitated others then incorporated similar software with Windows. Apple copied Xerox, MS copied Apple.
Big suprise! gui from xerox, OSX is the technology of freeBSD, CPU from Intel.. So Apple has produced anything? LOL! And the MAC users whine like bitches: Oh NO! Vista has copied OSX! Hypocrites!
windows is originally unix based, way back. we can definitely say that microsoft has copied much more! "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
@EmperorOfTheHighway Windows has never been unix based... Where did you get this from?? DOS is CPM based, and all while the original GUI of Windows pretty much full blown copy of the original Macintosh code... Thats where that evolved... NT Was their try on ACL permissions. UNIX is NOWHERE IN THERE

You wouldn't mind being more specific about how exactly Windows is "Unix based"?
